I went to the doc because my periods have gone crazy. I have never been regular except when on bc. After more than a decade I stopped taking two years ago But last few months I have been heavy flow like never before. I really need to change like every two hours but it's hard because half my time at work on the road out of the office. My period came on for 7 days last month. Normal is 3. Came back on two weeks later. Kept spotting for two weeks and is now fully on a again. The nurse asked me my last period and I didn't know what to tell her. Doc says no fibroids and everything looked fine so he didn't order an ultrasound. I told him to put me back on the pill. The cramping has always been bad but it used to be only the first day. now I have to get really drugged up on Alleve for almost the whole time. I can't deal with this. Going back on the pill. Actually when I first quit the pill I called the doctor because I didn't have a period for five months.

Re: Monthly & BC pill
I almost sobbed when I saw you write that 7 days is *long* for you. I've been visiting Aunt Flo for 15 days counting today. Which is actually why I'm going to get off my current BC (implant), even though it means hello to lower back pain, temporary fibroid popping sensations and nausea. I have never had a BC that eliminated or reduced the length of my period--I listen to women who say that like mystical fae in the night. I'm jealous. I hope your new pill works out for your needs!

Re: from 4c to 3c secret video purchase
I was JUST watching that girl's channel last week, but I was watching the 2-strand twist challenge she was doing. I saw that video and was so...I dunno...disappointed in her. I don't want to sound like I'm hating on a girl who is trying to make money, but why this? Sounds scam-alicious. Or maybe it's sour grapes for me because I don't see hundreds of videos and promo codes to take your 3b to 4c (though I did see a comment on a blog the other day about a woman who has 4a hair who purposely fluffs and scrunches to get fluffy 4c-like hair--she called it "faking the funk of 4c", so there's that...).

To me part of type 4's beauty is it's versatility. I have made my hair look undefined before using heat to stretch then combing through. My fro was huge but my hair won't stay upright on the top of head. It falls over. I will look for a picture.
Not trying to start crappy so I'm hoping this is still a safe zone. There is a thread about a controversial current event that has been dominated by a certain poster - now two posters. It's getting heated.

So I'm taking the advice of those who told me to look for another job. I'm not going to worry about being labeled a job hopper as I haven't been fortunate enough to be somewhere that has been worth staying.

The final straw was when my boss and company president decided to sue someone over a negative Facebook review. Later my boss wanted me to post a rude comment to the poster about our high member satisfaction review instead of addressing the poster's original issue. I realized that I'm in a dead end position working for out of touch people. And now the new girl is vying for my position. Although she only has two years in tge field and I have five plus two years of internships, she and I share the same title. I realize I need to work for a larger company that offer growth opportunities.

The officer's department typically says very little because they are not the ones doing the investigation. At least in my state that's against the law. Autopsy reports come from coroners and when a crime or possible crime investigation is on going they may not and legally don't have to release details not even COD. IMO it's not that the wheels are churning ny slower than usual but when there are 24 hour news programs that have a monster to feed ie people who want constant "new" information even when there is little new and newsworthy to report then the networks start getting desperate and putting whoever on tv. Or they'll run off to the next big thing. And when the cameras leave you will see who is there because they care and who is just clowning. I have personally seen protests where people got their picket signs for the tv then left right after the news crews did.
Yes you found it. I think someone from the police department should have made a statement about the slowness of releasing news because it's an ongoing investigation. It's confusing because of the misinformation being reported and the incompetence of some of the public officials and the police department.

Here it's actually contempt of court for the media to post a lot of details about a case before it goes to trial. Even individuals who post on blogs, twitter etc can be charged with this and end up in prison if they do so.

Once the trial is taking place then the media can post more things but not their opinion as not to prejudice jurors. Though in some cases jurors are put up in hotels to prevent jury tampering.

We have had some cases were the news channels and YouTube have had to remove video footage after a few hours because it's evidence.

Oh and the misinformation from the police is always deliberate. They are the only ones allowed to imply things. Luckily lots of people now do not trust what comes out of the police's mouth unless it's backed by someone else.

We have only been told that we can't write about something in the days immediately before a trial because that's when they are doing jury selection. I'm speaking of state court because murder is a state charge. For federal court I don't remember any pretrial publicity restrictions although cameras and cell phones are not allowed in fed. I wouldn't call it a law not to report on murder right before trial but it will put you on judge's bad side. We have had our butts chewed before by a judge for doing this and getting called up to the bench to face an angry judge is not where you want to be. Not sure about that state but where I live I have NEVER seen a murder or manslaughter case go to trial in less than a year. So the time between the incident and the trial many possible jurors won't remember the case or much of what was said in the media at the time it happened. Once the trial is underway we are free to report because jurors are not allowed to discuss the case or look at coverage. Sometimes they are sequestered or if it is that much publicity the judge orders a change of venue.
Another thing is unfortunately for reporters some people will lie about what they saw and it's not easy to tell sometimes if "witnesses" are credible. Once I was at a tornado scene and there was a trailer turned on its side. The next door lady told me no one was home at the time. A man later approached me saying he was in there and wanted to be interviewed. Then I told him I already knew no one was there and he got mad and started cursing making threats. The neighbor told me the man didn't even live in the neighborhood. Scumbag trying to capitalize on other people's hardships.

My hair is thinning out in the back in strange layers. I noticed it when I did mini-twists this weekend and they looked so so pitiful. I thought that the thinning was something that was happening to me because of relaxing my hair improperly a few years ago, but maybe it's the lack of iron that I've had on and off for a decade. I'm going to the doctor this week.
Hopefully it'll sort itself out.
I don't know if I should get marley twists or not--it might exacerbate the thinning in the back. Then again, my hair might rest for a bit if it's not fluffed/picked out or twisted every other day.
In other news, I keep playing this Gospel song I heard on the radio the other day: It's Working (This is my season). I think Jennifer Hudson would do really good on this song, I just love her voice. I don't have a religion, but I can appreciate religious music.

@pinkpostitheart don't you take iron tablets continuously?

If your iron levels both or either of haemoglobin and ferritin keep going low then, hasn't a doctor just told you to just take iron tablets until menopause and have regular blood tests to adjust the level?
@Blueblood
You would be surprised what my doctors have never told or suggested to me in ten years, despite my concerns about the heavy monthly. The last bloodwork I had said everything was acceptable range, so I am left to think it's all in my mind.

It was my father actually who told me to take iron (vitamin) supplements (I started a multivitamin). That helped, but I think when the heavy monthly started up again, it wasn't enough even coupled with my dietary changes I've made.

@pinkpostitheart sent you a pm - you aren't going mad.

Changing your diet is good but sometimes it's not enough.

Unfortunately some people including those with medical training refuse to believe this as they don't realise what you regard as "normal" is not considered normal medically particularly if they don't question you properly.

However my doctor says there is nothing abnormal about it. I recently started taking a probiotic. We'll see.
@adthomas it's normal to go everyday and even more than that depending on your diet.

I was watching a food documentary which showed that our Western diets don't give us healthy guts. A guy in rural East Africa could eliminate insoluble fibre from a tin of corn within 3 hours, while a Western guy took 13 hours to eliminate the same food. The guy in rural East Africa ate very little meat, no dairy and no processed foods.

However I've noticed some high fibre foods which are suppose to help aren't actually enough to make you bowels move.

I can eat a load of veg and legumes for a day, and end up not having a movement. In the case of the legumes I can end up feeling bloated.

On the other hand some other foods stuff like dried food can cause me to run to the bathroom.

Someone explained to me that fructose plus fibre often makes people do that. So I make sure I eat at least two pieces of fruit a day particularly an apple or banana. I know from one of my own family members who has problems telling him to eat a banana works for him as well.

Other people have reported coffee but filter coffee not instant has similar effects for them.

The reason the doctor won't do anything is because medical intervention would make it worse.

So in your case it would be trial and error to find food that makes you go.

BTW the gut bacteria to deal with plant products is different from the gut bacteria that deals with meat and dairy.
