ot: Why is my hair completely dry now? My hair NEVER dries that fast. And still moisturized with no stylers, wow, mayo is now my go-to deep conditioner.

I mean if this was your first visit to CT wouldn't you think hair type must be important once you saw the titles of the different boards? just saying

I think the problem is less that pepole are asking the question but more that when some people ask there is a certain response they want to hear and if they don't get that response they get upset or start showing you all kinds of different photo angles until you change your mind. Then there are the people who don't want to make the connection between why their hair is jacked up and what they've done to cause it. Much easier to blame some long dead ancestor than alter behavior or oh my goodness do the leg work and research. Another problem is people who have obviously chemically altered their hair yet expect us to figure out their natural texture.

There was a long time that my hair looked awful because I was not educated to proper hair care. But when I knew better I did better.
Since I made the decision to stay away from the what is my hair type threads I feel so much happier in my NC life.

What I don't understand about the whole thing is the defensiveness when someone asks the poster if their hair is damaged or if they are still transitioning.

Just because you haven't relaxed your hair in some odd months or even a year doesn't mean you don't have relaxed hair anymore. If you have not cut off the relaxed ends then you still have hair that is relaxed! Yes both heat AND color can damage the hair and mess your curl pattern up AND it only takes one time for that to happen! To be offended and act like someone is trying to punish you because they answer a question you asked is outright absurd to me. Most of the people who respond to those threads are not initially snarky, but when the OP continues to insist, "Well I am mixed," or "My hair just does that" or my favorite, "You just want my hair to be a certain type!" (I even remember one person saying that most people who claim 3c hair are type 4s and couldn't embrace their situation, while insisting her hair was a true 3c... when 3c wasn't even a part of the original hair typing system... please have a seat) then of course it rubs people the wrong way and you get gig mobbed up and side eyed to death.

We have never in my time being a member of this site had this many "What's my hair type" threads as we do now. I know that it all can be confusing and the section on this site for hair typing might be confusing to some folks, especially at the kinkier end of the spectrum, but please don't get mad when people try to explain that it's not important. Don't keep a thread going for 17 pages acting like you have no idea what people are talking about when you have gotten 50-11 responses from people of all different hair types telling you the same thing.

If you can, do it with home made mayo. It is an experience! I did my last DC like that and OMG my hair was AMAZING!!!

She is the reason why I changed my original name; couldn't be accidentally associated with that hot mess.

Anyways, I think that there is something up with all these posts out of no where, especially the ' I-got-a-drop- of-Nava-heaux-up-in-me' people. People are trying to start some static. Someone brought up the possibility that it is winter and chicks in the house looking at their naps... it ain't even that cold out lol! Go take a walk or read a book... stop obsessing over your .03 inches of new growth.

Has anyone seen Newt's wife's hair. OMG.Platimum blonde HAM!!! The article said she drops $3,000 a year getting her hair done. Her stylist should hang his head in shame.
