Questions for anyone that can help..and yes I know these are stupid questions but I'm really annoyed and would like some help.

Is light reddish brown a warm, neutral, or cool tone ? And what colors compliment reddish brown ? And does silver usually look bad with reddish brown ?

I would say warm. Reddish brown what (like burnt sienna?)? Makeup? hair? clothes? Usually I would say golds, and various shades of brown. Dark greens, blues, wines. Dark orange could work too depending if its fabric..

Like a light brown skin Indian woman that has a red undertone. People that look similiar to this..the lighter ones in the crowd:

Like what colors would look best on them.. makeup and clothes wise ? And what would be poor color choices for them ?

And are there any makeup brands (not Mac) that have foundations for this sort of red undertone ? Because I notice that most makeup made for WOC that's marketed to black women has a yellow undertone which I get that since most AA women do indeed have a yellow undertone. But is there anything for people with red undertones besides MAC ?

These complexions are usually warm bc they also have a yellow undertone, but if you're saying red undertone, then that's usually cool. I have a slightly red undertone and I have this issue all the time. Revlon Colorstay, Covergirl Queen collection and Black opal have been pretty ok for me. I'm not a huge makeup person so I cant weigh in on the foundation, but bolder colors look best on the cool palette. Shimmers are nice too for the face bc a luminescent glow (like bronzer) really flatters those complexions IMO. For that complexion clothing wise, I would use reds, wines, dark greens, blues, and brown. Violets, some purples, Oranges and magentas/fuschias work well too. I would avoid too many pastels, grays, and light brown/camel type colors that tend to make those complexions look washed out. If you have a dash of brown in ya, I'm pro color.

I said why do all these med schools require that you have 1000 hours of experience, but not an internship?.....what is that supposed to mean?

Marah, I second Naturalista's suggestion on the revlon colorstay. super red on me. also, the loreal true match in nuetral and cool have red undertones, depending on how much of a red undertone you want.

Here is my problem with this...what if someone held a nationally televised event celebrating the attachments and performances of white people. The black community would be absolutely ********!!! I think someone should start a White Entertainment Television channel just for the sole purpose to oppose BET. What about this Ebony magazine, "for the African American culture". If there was a "Caucasian Magazine" the black community would be up in arms about it. I am not a racist which is exactly why I oppose this ****ing racism!!

Clearly whoever said this doesn't understand the concept of White entitlement. If you are the perceived majority, then inclusion is implied. To be up in arms because a minority decides to make something just for them is completely missing the point. How can it be racism if the entire society is built around you?

*Note: I am not a fan of BET in anyway, I just don't like it when any minority group is criticized for trying to maintain some sort of cohesiveness within their community. There is enough drama out there for all races without some fcuktard complaining because they don't have their own network. Really, so all those 300 other channels out there aren't for you? And all the magazines and movies?! GTFOHWTBS.

Sorry this really bothered me for some reason. Carry on...

Marah,

MUFE has a really broad range of shades and I think they best account for the skintone you are inquiring about in their HD foundation, as does Becca, Illamasqua, and the other brands that were mentioned. I know you said not MAC, but the NW shades are exactly what you are describing. They do have yellow undertones but also the redness in them. The lighter colors (NW43 and lighter) are better blended imo than the darker ones. I personally don't like MAC foundations because I am not accommodated in their shade range, but I just wanted to put that out there for you.

Turts-- I am not aware of any hours requirement for medical school. I do know that during my time and even now, they prefer for you to have some sort of exposure to the health professions as a way of expressing interest and commitment to the field. People who have these experiences are more likely to actually finish medical school bc they have some (albeit remote) idea of what it means to be in the health field. It's all hooey. You need a lot of friends, prayer.. family.. and more prayer to get through.

Are you thinking about med school?

Lanisha and Naturalista..thanks.

Lanisha,

Which Colorstay looks red on you ??? These that seem like they would work for light to medium toned WOC all seem kind of yellowish IMO as far as undertone.. Caramel, Rich Ginger, Cappuccino , Golden Caramel, and Rich Tan...they seem yellowish in undertone.

What skin complexion are you.. what do you use ? LOL! I'm ALL in ya beeswax...SMDH.

Naturalista,
I used Indian women because many of them have a red undertone rather than a yellow undertone like many AA women do. I notice that when black women have a red undertone they are usually darker skinned. And I'm specifically looking for makeup (and clothing colors that best compliment) for light brown skin with a red undertone...that's more in line with a lighter Indian woman's skin tone...if that's makes sense. But I think the color choices you offered do sound right on the money. Thank you.

Thank you. MAC is definitely a no go. But I do notice that they have the reddish tones in their line..just seems their reddish tones that a lot of WOC go for NW45.. NW50 etc.. are just WAY too dark for what I'm looking for specifically. Now MAC's NC42 or NC43 would be about right IF they had more of a reddish tone instead of the yellow. I wonder is there a NW color that is light that way but with the red in it ? IDK. But even so..MAC is a no go..a dupe would be required. Hmmphf!

Never heard of Becca. But I've definitely heard of the others you've named..they seem worth a look. Thanks for the help.

What is your brand of choice ?

The Cappuccino is the one I use and even that's too red for me in the winter. I have to lighten it up and mix it with a lighter liquid foundation I have but in the summer when I tan its fine. It's more red than I thought it would be..
