LOL. I didn't even watch the vid. All I saw was his face (b/c one of my YT friends had liked his video) and the title "Natural Hair" and I kept it right on moving. He's really taking off his shirt AGAIN?! WTH you doin' a hair video with no shirt on....I'm sorry I just can't.

If I recall correctly...people were speculating that the reason he knew the "hair terms" when he came out with his first hair video like a freakin' YEAR ago (we had a thread on it) was b/c he was dating a chick with natural hair...I can't remember if he confirmed that or not...then, YES, he did that video with his boo thang and she had like 8lbs of remy on her head. I was like I see...and no, there is nothing wrong with weave, I just don't see why he needs to comment on natural hair so much. Like dude, stfu...

We were talking about this kony 2012 thing in one of my classes today. I found out a lot of stuff I didn't even know. I mean I knew about the children soldiers and stuff, but I was confused as to why this sudden interest/urgency about the situation.

I also found out some stuff about the charity behind this. Apparently, the Invisible Children organization only gives 30% of their income to charity. That doesn't seem cool.

Also, what will money even do for a situation like this? How will it help the children? How will it help anything? That's what really bothers me about these organizations and our culture in general. People think that money is the cure and that makes them feel good about themselves. So you get the pretentiousness from people because they think they're captain hero. But the don't realize how much more complex the problem really is. Money doesn't solve anything. Look at Africa and all of the problems, health, social and economic, that don't get better despite all the money that goes throughout the whole continent.

I could rant about this more but I'm on my iPod and I'm in class.lol

i had a feeling that the bold was the case... as soon as i heard about them, i wanted to see some receipts.

ITA w/ everything else. i mean, money helps a little, but it certainly wont fix the issue. there are structural and cultural problems going on that are making it possible for this and other orgs/armies to even exist, so buying a bracelet wont fix a thing. i feel like orgs like the invisible ppl always oversimplify the situation severely, to the point where ppl can't even see the real issues that need to be addressed. getting rid of kony is like picking up a mouse turd in the dining room when you have 3 elephants w/ diarrhea sh*tting all over your house.

what annoys me the most is that IF they do manage to take down kony, ppl will just pat themselves on the back for buying a bracelet or tshirt, and completely forget about it. they wont even care about all the other child armies in africa (and the middle east... and asia), or about the army that will just take the place of kony's.

furthermore... there's SO MUCH shady sh*t going on HERE that no one gives a f*ck about, or pretend doesn't happen, but we're so quick to run over to africa and fling money at them. how about we fix the human trafficking and child slavery problems we have HERE first? how are you helping others when you have your own problems?!

i wont even get started on how the US govt supporting certain leaders is a part of the reason for the unrest in these central african countries... that's another rant for another day. it's 70 degrees outside, and i refuse to be stuck inside all day.

Yeah...I've decided to cut my hair even shorter so there is no way I'll go through all this stuff even with daily washing. I'm really digging the simplicity and ease of shorter hair and I want to take just a little bit more of the back and sides to make it even easier. So my hoarding tendencies are your gain....lol

Nah, he didn't go home. Honestly (and I hate to say this), Emily is just an idiot and didn't even know what the hell she was doing. She like grew up in some religious cult they said and didn't know what blackface was...they were talking about it on the After Show and she was like GENUINELY sorry like she was mortified with herself. I can't stand her but I was like damn fine, get over it. If he had gone home I would have be fine with it though...his brows irk me. Oh, but at least he got his teeth fixed.
