Seems like these beings are gettin' more cruel and insensitive, with each generation....just mean-spirited and hateful. Don't claim that's just "being a kid", because it's not. I wasn't like that when I was a kid (and none of my friends were either). How do you "teach" compassion and kindness, and when do the lessons start? I'm curious, cuz I saw a 4-year old swingin' at a PUPPY, with a rake, just a few days ago. I intervened, and took a moment to teach a child how to handle a creature, smaller and more fragile. Many folks would have laughed, shook their heads...and kept movin', which is a problem.

I'm so sick of "Facebook"...period. Too many dummies (adults and their offspring) being irresponsible, at someone else's expense.

I have to take issue with this. Stuff like bullying and kids gossiping, slam books and the like have existed for decades. It only seems like the problem is getting worse because cable TV and the Internet have a 24 hour news cycle and sensational things like the Chardon shooting are spread through these channels in a matter of minutes. 30 or 40 years ago, it's unlikely you would have heard about that shooting outside of Ohio
. Also, in a number of states, it's ridiculously easy to get a gun. I don't have a "good old days" mentality, because I don't believe the "good old days" were always so great. It's human nature to think the past was better when we're dealing with rapid change and challenges.
You know what I heard yesterday? Two sisters in elementary school almost got arrested, because they were trying to jump somebody's MAMA! WHERE DA HELL PEOPLE DO DAT AT? In the 5th grade, I sassed the hell out of a teacher every so often-- but plotting to jump somebody's mother? Hell no. So yeah, there is no amount of " oh things like this happened all the time when we were little" to convince me that these kids are not becoming more aggressive, entitled, violent, and downright disrespectful. I've worked in some sort of capacity with children for over 15 years and I can say unequivocally that children are INDEED different from what most generations were 15 years ago.

It's not that bullying or violence didn't happen during those times, but more of the fact that it was not the norm like it is now. Yes, the media plays a role in broadcasting these situations, but um, do you really think that there would have been a mass shooting like that in the 70's or 80's in the first place? Easy access to guns or not, the world has become a vastly different place. Back in those days, a kid could bully you to some extent in the school or neighborhood, perhaps. Now, a bully can find you on FB or twitter and taunt you. Make a page dedicated to calling you a slut. Send you 40 texts messages a day calling you a ***got. It's relentless. That is why I don't question or judge how a teenager can commit suicide. Because the bullying may seem like it's never going to end. The message for those teens needs to be that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Not that they are selfish or don't understand how worse life can be, because in their mind, life is as bad as it gets.

Bravo. I was about to type a reply, but I read yours and it's on point. Even when it came to fights in school, nobody ever died, or got their classroom shot up. Kids would fight, and then it was...over. You got a black eye, and maybe a split lip. That was it. Now? A schoolyard brawl can end in the morgue.

Kids aren't equipped to handle the level of taunting/bullying that's often intensified, because of technology. Plus, parents are different now. What's allowed now by parents would not have been allowed, when I was a kid. It's a different day.

So, while I have no illusions about the "good ole' days", I would NOT want to be a young person, in this day and time.

First off, those are 14 minutes of my life I want back.

Second, what's the purpose of the show? Are those, uh, females (can't call 'em ladies) living, eating, partying, mayhem creating, etc., free of charge for just the heck of it? To out bad each other??? Or are they living in a mansion with the purpose of eventually being reformed? I don't get it, nor will I, b/c I won't bother ever watching to find out.

Third - what a bunch of disgustingly nasty, triflin', stanknasty heffas. Cova up yo cooch son!
the show was originally about them trying to better themselves while there, in theory. the show never really set anything up for them to actually attempt to change (except in the first few seasons, they would get a "job" like on the real world, and they had a therapist come in at the end of the first two seasons to play back the footage of their time on the show and make them feel guilty about acting a fool. oh, and that lady from the view who lost hella weight and ended up having a big ass head hosted the reunion show and cussed and shamed them for the first 3 seasons). after awhile, they just dropped all the pretense, and now the show is just about some ratchet chicks being trifling in a mansion. they officially blew their cover when they made perez hilton the host of the reunion show.

i think the show will be coming to its natural end in a few seasons, b/c at this point it's just a bunch basic chicks coming in and trying to outdo the last season. this season seems to be filled with ppl who were too lame to make the previous seasons. they get upset and want to fight over any little thing, but no one ever really fights (unless theyre jumping someone of course). the only reason i'm still watching is bc i wanna see the twins get their comeupins for jumping elease and being generally crazy.

We need to encourage and dare I say "teach" civility and respect for one another. You have congressmen calling the President a liar, not only on the floor of the Senate, but during his speech to boot; to shows such as RHO of whatever, Bad Girls, Dance Moms, etc., where women fight, yell, curse each other. Music that glorifies violence, a music industry where you have greater credibility if you go to jail. Musicians who are considered "soft" if they sing about feelings and not money, sex or violence. All these things get hyped, these people get paid, get their "15 minutes of fame", with no apparent repercussions. You have to expect the level of incivility, disrespect and violence you see these days.

Not to mention the lack of respect for teachers but yet they are supposed to impart knowledge to children whose parents have abdicated their authority or worse yet, disrespect the teacher in front of the child. I agree Ninjarette, parents, now allow things that would have never been allowed when I was a child. There needs to be more "there is no need for you to have" vs "let me get you"(smartphone, iPad, computer, Xbox, etc.). Can possibly limit cyber bullying if you limit access.

We had problems in school, but not to the degree you see these days. The escalation is downright frightening.

I love Cutepolish! I'd probably just paint it straight on instead of messing with the bag, but it's a nice simple flame design.

I need to start thinking about nails for that since I'm going to the midnight show.

Yeah.. I really like the way she does her nails..I like the shorter length like that too because she shows you can do cool designs on shorter nails. I don't even know much about The Hunger Games. I just know Turtles and a few of the other ladies here seem to like it. I did purchase the first book in that series from Audible though..haven't listened yet. So stuck on my vampire and paranormal romance novels..I can't seem to focus on listening to anything else.. and I'm backed up with like 12 books already! Still haven't even finished listening to the latest Alex Cross novel..ugh!

Hope you enjoy the show!

Thanks, I will! It has Lenny Kravitz, so I can't hate it.

It's sort of like Battle Royale.

Think of dystopian North America post major war and costal changes from global warming. Throw in a Theseus style tribute plot, and you're set.

Can you imagine what it must be like to have your husband/wife, the love of your life, wake up after a tragic accident and have no recollection of your relationship or you ever having been married?
