Then, what is a grown man doing approaching a kid with a gun. And how in the world are you going to claim self-defense when the person with the gun chased after the boy walking home? Pshhhhh

My dad got a pedometer from his work place because they are trying to promote healthy living (something to do with the new health insurance plan they have...anyway). My dad when walking around the neighborhood using the sidewalks and stuff to get steps counted on the pedometer. All of a sudden some man claiming to be from the "Neighborhood Block Watch" approaches him and says :

Man: "What are you doing walking around in this neighborhood???"

Then he got a accusatory saying stuff like "well what street to do live on....I've never seen you before" and stuff like that. Obviously my dad became defensive but he just walked home. I could tell he was upset (like, not angry but hurt) by what the man was implying.

Fortunately for my family the accusatory man wasn't as hot-headed or didn't have a gun. I feel sorry for the young man and his family.

A couple of years ago, when my dad was in charge of setting up the Lord's Supper at church for the next morning the police were called 6 different times. Why??? Someone one saw a "suspicious" black man walking around the church. Ummm, he walked through the front door and used his key to get in, give me a break! None of the white members of the church ever had the police called on them when the Lord's supper was their responsibility so I have to wonder if it was just "concerned citizens" or something else.

Blah, and I've heard of wayyyy too many arguments justifying racial profiling to count. (I've heard them most recently with the whole airplanes TSA thing and Middle Eastern people). It's like some people don't care about the rights of other innocence people. I'm not even saying that they should turn a blind eye but when you are targeting people for no reason other than race, it's just wrong.

It's a shame what happened to Trayvon but I think the worst part is we know Zimmerman's probably going to get off scott free and we know this will happen again.

i think she does it deliberately to get the reaction she does.

but eh, if you can look at a head of bsl hair and really think she grew that in 3 months... her going by her bc date is the least of your issues.

he's def not getting any jail time for what he did, but i hope the family at least sues the breaks off his ass. that's like an open and shut wrongful death case; the 911 call is all the evidence he need. trayvon wouldn't be dead if zimmerman hadn't chased him.

and i'd like to know just what they think theyre proving by telling us that zimmerman is hispanic? like hipanics can't be prejudice toward black ppl? b/c really some of the most racist ppl i've ever met were hispanic (and asian). idk why ppl always mention that some is hispanic when denying racism, like hispanic means black part 2 or something.

i'll stop there before i go into a '"ppl of color' need to stick together" rant. can't be bother.

I don't know the official definition of BC. Is there one?

To me, if you cut off more than 2 inches of hair ... that's a big chop!

From my understanding though, a BC is chopping your relaxed hair off,it was never clarified to me that if you are/were a long term transitioner you don't BC. But those are just my thoughts, hope this answere your question

i think youre big chop is when you cut of the last of your relaxed hair (like 4+ ins). but i think when someone asks how long youve been natural, theyre asking when the hair that is (or should be) on your head started growing. if you transitioned for 3 yrs, then clearly your BC date is not what theyre asking for. if you transitioned for like 2 months and then BCed, or you shaved your head or something, it would make sense to go by the BC date. usually ppl are asking to gauge how long it took you to get to that length, so i doubt they give a bag of mouse turds about your BC if you transitioned for 3 years. it's a little misleading b/c it a) ignores the fact that you have 3 years worth of hair on your head, and b) ignores the fact youve retained ALL of your natural hair growth. someone who BCed and grew two years worth of hair still wouldn't have the same length, b/c ppl rarely retain all of their length. but that's just my opinion. it's not really hurting anyone when someone does that, and it has no bearing on the length of my hair, so meh.

its not right or fair that hes gonna get away. thats cold blooded murder. he had no weapon, he was way smaller, plus zimmerman knew he had a gun on him so i wouldnt even consider the boy to be threat. its sad.

lmao why is everyone so concerned w/ light/dark skinnededness these days?

i wont even touch that thread...
Question: if your hair does better with products w/ 'cones than products w/o 'cones, is that a sign something is wrong with your hair? Because I know 'cones coat your hair shaft.

I responded because she posted in nonhair, not 4a and I think she's really young. But I don't get these questions as of late. There's always going to be someone darker or lighter and to say one is dark or light depends on your experiences. And why is this important?!
