Time Out! Who put that "what up thug" tag!!!!! (50 was my boo back in the day...when the BET awards would come on, he had me rollin' on the living room floor actin' a hot sloppy mess!!)

Time In! Soleilmoncur, I really love my NYX round lipsticks. They are really pigmented, especially since my upper lip is brown and the bottom is pink. I will tell you right now, Hero is a bold and wonderful blue based red that compliments my skin beautifully. You should defffff try it!
Sista from anotha motha, I see you!!!

But really, I must share some DNA with every last one of y'all, bc you each have read my mind at one point...or maybe we all had a "Big Momma" type role model!

I'm gonna call you out and tell you not to fake like it doesn't happen. BUT, it's not that serious to be sobbing over it on another forum. 'Tis all. It's the INTERNET. Geez.
Not saying it doesn't happen but the poster made it seem as if only the regulars were privy to NC business and it was only a clique.

Actually...I *think* this post is from that girl who started the thread asking for hair products.

So...I'll take it with a grain of salt. http://www.curlynikkiforums.com/112335-post5.html
That was the girl who posted this in every section on the board.

I don't think people need to post all the time but after you have a certain number of posts people seem to recognize your font and you won't get "misunderstood" as often. I remember I posted something about women feeling the need to explain to me why they relax their hair without me even asking them, and someone turned that into me being a high and mighty natural. I was like ummm what? Learn to read...

i get pms from folks all the time. not abot hair stuff, though.

maybe theyre talking about the say it thread? i guess if you don't frequent the board and happened upon that thread ot would seem kind of weird and cryptic. granted.... it would only take a simple scan of the board to figure out what folks are talking abot.

I had to gif this

And the question about MAC that I asked was more or less "Why the hype"? I read over some of the comments before from Lolakinkz and a few others about some MAC colors and I wanted to find out why it was so popular.
Word. Well outside of the trendy aspect, I think it's popular because it's easily accessible (available at their own stores and several dept stores), and the makeup artists usually (although there are exceptions) look on point. Sometimes when I go to Sephora I'm like, "Uh, honey, I know you aren't trying to sell me some makeup." They also do a lot of celeb collaborations and their limited collections make it more desirable because people know they won't be able to get it again, or they'll have to wait until they repromo it.

Also, their online chat help is actually helpful and the people responding actually know about the colors. Last time I did an online chat to find a new foundation, and she suggested I get NC40 rather than go to NW b/c NC has less rosy undertones, and I told her that I have yellow undertones. Then, rather than pressure me to buy it online, she said it would be best if I go to the store and double check, and lo and behold, she was right about my color.

I also like that their VivaGlam purchases go to their AIDS fund, and you can trade in empty containers/tubes for a free eyeshadow, lipstick, or lipgloss.
I love MAC because it get great coverage with their foundations. 100% of their things are out of my price range but they usually last me a while. I haven't been able to find a powder or cream that matches my skin tone like Studio Fix (powder) and Mineralize.

And their chat is very helpful....I was new to the whole makeup game and they helped me with colors that would look good (not weird) on my skin tone)...I can't wait to restock up.
I like MAC for their lipsticks and foundations, probably the top 3 brands in my opinion and much more affordable than NARS etc... I get a discount so that skews my view. But I will say that their range of shades and the mixability of their foundations is nice and they are alot cheaper than MUFE even with out the discount. I just bought my first e/s and lip gloss from them sooo verdict is still out on that stuff.

Just an FYI, be careful with their powdered products. I find them to break quite easily (I have experienced this with thier eyeshadows and blushes - the single ones). And once they break, they continue to do so. I have a dark navy single shadow that I dropped from my makeup bag to my carpet (about 18 in), it broke a little corner off so I put it securely in the bag, sitting flat. It is powder, after two more days. Even at $5 per, I would like for them to be more hardy. I do love their colors, but I am putting them on pause because this has happened several times lately for me.
i so agree sagehen @nyx powder products

i use all sorts of products but nothing, absolutely nothing touches mac's lipstick. every other product i've tried sux!!!!

I want to say something about that CN forum mess but I don't kniow where to start. I meander over there from time to time and I can't even make sense of it so I mostly stay here, and I feel none of that silliness they mentioned. Which of us can "make them run"? How is that possible? The poster about the kid and the bath water, the MODS banned her and deleted her posts because of the language, etc (that's for the dumb a*s lurkers posting on CN), so how did any of us do that? And what is the definition of "insultive"? I stopped reading after that, and there is a lot of "that" over there. OK I am off the tracks now...KIM

I forgot what I was actually on here to respond to...I got THAT sidetracked. Maybe I will come back.

Oh yeah NYX e/s make me mad, granted they are very pigmented but damn can you take a hit.... But their lipstick and glosses are nice, Doll pink gloss is one of my faves.

I dabbled in make-up for a bit but then every time I'd have a picture taken my face would look abnormally flat because of the way I put on the foundation I guess...

I do look at tutorials sometimes though, but then I don't have all the primers, brushes, etc that they have so it's kind of hard to get it right.

Maybe I'll focus on makeup once I get this hair and weight situations under control.

I agree Mac lipstick is on point.

I haven't tried too many other though.

Be careful with those pigmented lipglosses by NYX because theyll fade off in this weird way after a while and it will make you look a hot mess.

Wooooooo! Look at the lovely fresh, new thread! *walks in with muddy shoes*

My posts have only reduced by 100 or so. Weird! I don't think I post elsewhere much! Loving the tags ladies!
