kilajo: is it normal for them to be really lethargic? he wont drink anything. i tried to force it but he screamed pushing the cup away. when he was awake his eyes were barely open. he cant keep them
open. hes woken up a couple times and went right back to sleep. he seems to be exhausted. part of me wants to take him to the er now but if this is all normal for pneumonia then i dont want to over react

@sweetmx-hope your little man gets better soon!
@Marah-f&ck Geraldo. I've never cared for him, nor have I ever had any respect for him. I remember a special he did many years ago when I was in high school about finding Al Capone's vault and hyping up about what might be in there. Once he got to the vault and opened it, it turned out there wasn't anything in there. Jive ass.

Sweetmx85- I hope your baby feels better soon. I understand what you mean about wanting to take him to the ER. Sick children (especially when they are so small) always look so pitiful when they aren't feeling well. If you want to take him to the hospital, I'd say do it. It can't hurt and it may help so you can't lose. Who cares if it turns out to be unnecessary and you were "overreacting", it's your baby!
102.5 is on quite high in my opinion. I can't remember what is normally thought of as needing immediate/emergency care but I think it's somewhere between 104-106 (I think that may be for adults though)???
Your husband is right about the hot/cold thing. It was actually mentioned in my physiology class the other day!

Ya'll. Ya'll. *talks really slow* did you all know that DMX has 10 kids by 6 baby mamas?
da hell? Who were/are these women? Who in da fawk spread their legs for DMX--- THEN let him skeet skeet? There are so many questions and not enough time. The real reason I brought this up was due to this clip:
'Couples Therapy' Premiere: DMX Fights With Tashera Over Infidelity, Says He Never Wanted To Marry (VIDEO)
Ya'll we need to do a prayer circle for Tashera. Because she has to be mentally ill or so broken down to think that she deserves this mess.

Sweetmix i hope your little guy feels better. ditto the tempid bath idea. Also if you can't get him in the tub, rub him down with rubbing alcohol (white or green). As the alcohol evaperates off his skin, it will cool him down and help his body regulate the temp. Also, give him a fever reducer (children's advil, motrin, or tylenol) per the dosing instructions for his size/weight/age so that the antiboitics get a chance to take effect and once his body has some help fighting off the illness it will be able to regulate his temperature.
Good Luck!

Ugh. I remember he came to my campus and this chick hopped right up in his ride with no shame. From that day forward anytime I saw her on campus, I gave her the look of yuck.

Ok...keep in mind that I am a minimalist (partially because I work in a doctor's office and see people overreact all the time).
If you took your baby in already and they have him on antibiotics, they usually take about 24 to 48 hrs to start working. Until then, all you can do is manage his symptoms. Fever reducer. Keep him hydrated. He will be tired, his body is fighting and needs all of his energy reserves for that fight, so he won't be running around. If his fever won't come down even with a fever reducer - worry. If he is unresponsive - worry. Try giving him spoonfuls of water or pedialyte to keep him hydrated, like 1 tbsp every 10-20 mins. If he won't take that and he isn't having any wet diapers - worry.
Now don't get me wrong, worrying is not bad. I have my own kids, and truth is even though I know all of this, I worry when my kids are sick. If you have a doctors office that has an on call service, try calling them for advice before you take him in. They can sometimes give you advice and little tips to keep yourself sane. But the ER is for emergencies and if he is already being treated, the ER won't do anything but take up your time and theirs, and potentially expose you to more serious stuff(eww).
Hugs to you and your baby.

He was just here in concert a few weeks ago. My friend asked me if I wanted to go. I was like hell no. I loved the old rough ryder, give a dog a bone DMX, but the new, scrawny, give a dog some crack (and apparently now some skeezers and bad ass kids) DMX...yeah Imma have to pass.
