Apparently CURLS isn't for type 4 hair? But KYNX is? I never purchased from either line & now I never will.

From an April 5th press release. Dellinger announced her acquisition, during the festivities, of KYNX Hair Care stating, “I’m excited to announce that we have officially acquired the company KYNX and are looking forward to expanding our offering to include TYPE 4 Textured hair under this new division of CURLS. We see great potential in this brand and over the next few months will be looking closely at how we might better align what they have with what we currently offer. We believe this will be a perfect addition to our current product lines.”

I don't buy Mixed Chicks because of that nonsense - I like some of the Curls products, but with the "for multiracial women" and now this, I don't think I'll be replacing anything.

@Marah, I'm gonna chat with the kynx folks at the hair show. I want them to quit playing themselves.

Not sure if she is still around but Happy Birthday to afrodomicana as well!
Wow... CURLS must have gotten better over the years. I used it like I don't know 3 or 4 years ago and I just thought it was okay for my then high porosity hair.

Wonder if it would work on normal to low porosity hair ?
Ladies,

After reading all the concerns about the inconsistent moderation, I decided to volunteer to be a moderator. I realize it is a thankless job, but I feel I can help and I am willing to try.

I believe with everyone's help, NC.com can be a relatively harmonious place where discussions can be had without being disrespected or ridiculed. I thank all of you in advance for your patience and understanding. Please feel free to send me a PM to JuanaGuide if you have any questions or concerns or if I can be of any help to you.

Goddess Glaze is the biz. And it's only $7 at HEB.

Wasn't there some controversy some years ago around Dellinger? IIRC, she used to go out of her way to respond to critics and haters on Youtube, blogs, and forums.

Anyway, I'm surprised she now believes that the Curls line is not suitable for type 4 hair. She used to have a video of herself demonstrating how to use her line on type 4, so maybe she's just saying that to justify the acquisition of KYNX? Because there's no point in having 2 separate lines unless all she sees is more products = more dollars signs.
