lol at my mother marveling at how long my hair is in this braided ponytail. maybe no she'll leave me alone about how i cut off my "long, flowing hair" to go natural (truth be told, most of my hair broke off like a year after my first relaxer. i went from like mbl to apl between freshman and sophomore year of high school. by the time i went natural, i had already had my hair non consensually cut to collarbone length a few months prior... she was upset about that too."

That's like my grandparents tripping when I shaved my head even though my hair had been damaged like whoa and breaking off. Now they are forever complimenting me on how healthy my hair looks...but they still get mad excited when I get it straightened for a trim (which is like 2-3 times a year) and ask if I'll wear it that way more. -___- I guess it's the generation thing. 
I just washed my hair and I don't care what anyone says; I love me some silicones. I don't use them from late fall to around mid/late spring and when I do start using them again I love hoe much more slick and light my hair feels. I love when another natural sees me buying Pantene and lightly goes "Do you happen to know what's IN that?" (and it's actually happened multiple times). Yeah, okay.

My mom's parent's arrived today, I'm so happy to see them. It has been far too long, I've got to do better about seeing them more than once a year.
By Saturday, ill be ready for them to go, probably sooner, my grandma is already giving tips about being a good wife and all of that nonsense.

silly question, if you don't have any stds, is it still possible to get ovarian cancer?
I feel like i spoke that into existence, because I always used to joke that I probably have ovarian cancer. 
I have an abnormal pap and the nurse said I had to come in to talk to the doctor, but she could tell me I'm std free....so why can't you tell me what abnormal means?!?! 
She was like "good news is that you don't have any stds.....but..."
I'm gonna be spazzy until I find out.

I had an abnormal pap once. Was nothing. Next pap was fine. My aunt said she has never had a pap come back normal but her plumbing is fine.

Since we can't curse anymore I just want to say I'm so (insert expletive) mad that this (insert expletive) man has doubled everyone's (insert expletive) workload then has the audacity to say don't get any overtime. What does he expect us to do work for free when we know he is making more money from it. I don't (insert expletive) think so.

I've had abnormal pap smears for over 17yrs and I've never had an std. My issue is I develop pollups on my uterus or one of those inner lady parts. The pollups always test negative for cancer but they are removed every time I go for the colposcopy (sp?).

Yes, just like you can never have smoked and get lung cancer.

You may have some abnormal cells, if it's your first abnormal pap they may do a colposcopy (just look), a biopsy (take a sample for analysis), or just watch it and do another pap in 6months to check for changes. Don't worry, it's not necessarily cancer, lots of people have abnormal paps and are perfectly healthy. You may have a few more abnormals, it may be your only one and every one after will be normal. Go in and see what the doctor says.

No stds is great! That would be my biggest concern.

Didn't you know? Mixed girls have good hair! And everyone (everyone smart that is) knows good hair is magnetically attracted to the floor. This would explain why mixed girls have long hair, it's trying to get to the floor! Just basic science. I'm surprised you didn't know about this, it was included in my middle school science curriculum...
