I read that stuff about Michelle Obama a few days ago. I didn't mention it here though. But since it was brought up..guess I'll comment.

The bottom line is Michelle Obama is the epitome of the exact opposite of every stereotype that certain people have put on black women in the USA. And for that matter Barack is the epitome of the exact opposite of every stereotype that certain people put on black men in the USA ..well except maybe his love of b-ball.

But I think it chaps certain people good that here is this black couple where one side comes from the product of American black slavery (Michelle) and the other comes from direct African roots (Barack) and both are proud of their heritages sitting up in the WHITE House of all places being the "face" of America..for all intents and purposes...leading America. America! The nerve of them! They are decendants of slaves and uncivilized tribemen! They can't be the President and First Lady of the United States..it's appauling to some sensibilites!

Not to mention they couldn't get any real dirt on any of them. The stuff Obama did in his youth..he'd already told it in his books (so then they tried to say he's not an American citizen). And Michelle well she just doesn't have that history that a lot of people like to throw up in American black people's faces..particularly black American women's faces. She doesn't come from a broken home, she and her brother are educated..her brother is the men's head b-ball coach at Oregon State not in jail, selling drugs, or on them, she didn't have a bunch of kids out of wedlock with different daddies, she was never a welfare queen, and she didn't just get lucky cause she married Obama. She was already educated and working a high powered job when she met him. She has degrees from Harvard and Princeton for pete's sakes! And her kids aren't an after thought. She's actively involved with them and always has been according to EVERY source they tried to dig up on her. She's well spoken, graceful and dresses classy, not boisterious and loud, and she doesn't have daddy issues. Her father was a hard worker for many years at a city water plant and was a leader in local Democratic politics. Him and Michelle's mother were married all the way until his death. Her mother was a homemaker until Michelle went to high school. And from all sources her mother and father both were very involved and interested in both their children's lives and instilled morals and values in them. Barack even said Michelle's father was like a father figure to him!

You go back even further in her line and you'll see many people in her family were hard workers and not gutter trash. They are the fabric of America type people. Grass Roots. They just happened to be black. Even a cousin made a name for himself in Judaism..Rabbi Capers Funnye her first cousin once removed. He's the first black rabbi to be on the Chicago Board of Rabbis..he's involved in some very prestitous Jewish organizations and headed many programs and initiatives for black Jews as well as the general Jewish community. And he's been involved in many platforms to bring blacks and Jews together in unity.

So I'm not understanding how any of that translates into an angry black woman. It just doesn't fit her or her history. Unless being direct, able to speak for herself very well, and not deferring to and cowering behind a man means she's angry. And furthermore, I find the angry black woman phrase just the equivelant of saying she's a B*tch. Because that's all the hell folks mean when they say angry black woman..they mean the woman is the B word. No more and no less. When a white woman has the history of Michelle Obama and is decisive, direct, and isn't afraid to speak up for what she believes in..she gets called a the B word. So no need in them trying to front and sugar coat what they are trying to call Mrs. Obama. They are flat out saying they think she's a black b*tch that shouldn't be the First Lady of the United States because it's appauling.

Let's just be real about it.

Michelle Obama is not ghetto trash with a chip on her shoulder. And so I can only point to one thing that makes sense to me concerning the constant disrespect and dragging her reputation through the mud and that's racism. Plain and simple.

the end wouldnt be so bad if they had let the story go on a lil further. it's liek they said "f*ck it, ion know how to end this sh*t" and did that lame ass ending. and the last screen before teh credits roll.... i wanted to fight someone. i sat there in the theater until the dang lights came on. i was SO SURE something else was gonna happen.

i think they just wanted to throw out a scary movie b/c there have really only been mushy, oscar bait and kids' movies out in the last few months. they just knew scary movie fans would be all up in the theater when it premiered. they tried to get as much money on opening as possible, b/c the knew word would get out about this turd.

I'm sure someone will want to jump on me for this but since this is the SIIDY thread Ima just say my opinion:

Black people have been tapping their kids tail for centuries. It's worked for them for centuries. Matter of fact, there didn't seem to be so many black kids running around trying to act like they don't know any better before white people tried to insert themselves into the equation talking about, "child abuse....physical punishment is cruel...OhMyGawd....you're teaching a child to hit....call the po po and remove the child" when really, my spankings never led me to believe that it was anything but a punishment, since it was always began with the list of reasons why i was getting and how i could avoid it in the future. And avoid it i did. Sure there are some kids that are being beaten, but that was a far cry from the rare spankings I got as a kid. So I will definitely go right on along with having an ass-whooping in my little nifty child-rearing tool kit. It's very rare for me, and it was rather rare in my family because we usually followed the rules. Some of these kids do need a good old-fashioned ass-whooping. It woulda cleared them right on up and they wouldn't be acting a fool now.

Plus....we was po. Not poor. Po. The kinda po where my momma would go without food for days or a week and we were eating pots of beans, or peanut butter bread. What you gone do sit us in the bare corner with nothing to do? That wasn't punishment we learned to entertain ourselves in our head at a very young age. Take our phones, games, toys, other luxury items away from us? We didn't have those anyway so we didn't care. Ground us? We stayed in the home with family, we didn't stay on the phone talking to friends, we didn't go out with friends. We didn't want or need to have all these friends. We kept the outside friends at school and usually left them there. We were each other's closest friends.

And no I am not my child's friend. Not my job. That shouldn't be taken to mean that I am not a nurturing and loving mother, I'm just not her friend. Friendship invites people to over-step the boundaries and ignore the usual operating rules in place. Friends do it to other friends all the time.

i never get when something happens w/ some kids doing ratchet sh*t in the news, and ppl jump up like "well their parents shouldve spanked them!" and i'm like... i'd bet every penny i have that that kid gets beat like every week.

and honestly, i think the population of ppl who believe that kids shouldnt be beat under any circumstance is VERY small. i don't even know any white ppl who weren't spanked as kids. i just think that most ppl believe you shouldnt automatically resort to spanking when the child acts up. it's kind of lazy, b/c you're not even taking the time to figure pout what kind f punishments your child actually responds to.

a punishment means nothing if it isn't executed properly.

I simply don't think I, nor any other parents who use spanking as an option but not generally their first one for everything, should be cast into the role of child abusers. I've seen child abuse, counseled child abusees and child abusers, my child is quite fortunate to have me. The experience is nothing like what I experienced growing up. Most people screaming child abuse have never experienced child abuse or lived it through someone who has. I can understand a child abuse survivor being adamant about no physical confrontations, especially if they're determined to be nothing like their parents or guardians, but I rarely understand all the other 2cent folks. I bet you a billion dollars Obama or his siblings probably got their asz-whooped as a child. Don't see nothing seriously wrong with him.

Personally I don't automatically think "shoulda spanked them" when I see people on the news. However, rarely can anyone say upon looking into these people's backgrounds that their issues didn't start with their parents or guardians. Sh*t don't just pop up and come out, it takes a long time to hit the bottom.

I get grief for calling "Halle Berry" crazy (people kill me with the battles they choose), but for the most part, I don't clown on women....ESPECIALLY black women. If I call a woman out for something, it's not based on something as shallow as how she "looks". We don't get to choose that, and that's a cheap shot, AND it nullifies all the work we claim we puttin' in, trying to change the way society views women and importance of physical appearance (especially for women, black women even more).

Let me tell you the dirt that I put together years ago. You know I'm a celebrity stalk..I mean slueth. Now, Yes..like you, I as well thought Justice was just being a jerk because of the bad marriage and his philandering ways. But check it. I notice that other men Halle dated such as Christopher Williams, Shemar Moore, and Michael Ealy all implied in one way or another that she's crazy and they couldn't deal with it. Given..recently Ealy has backpedaled on it. Now I'm not saying what I read..I'm saying what I SAW AND HEARD each of these men say in interviews via radio and tv...over the years. Christopher Williams went so far as to say basically that he's asked all the time.."Man how you let Halle Berry get away." And he tells folks that yeah she looks good but being with her ain't all it's cracked up to be cause she a little ...off.

And lastly Eric Benet. He did a full article..can't think of which black magazine it was but it was one I actually bought and read..where he talks about how nuts Halle was and he insinuated that the reason he went out and got some azz on the side was cause she got hang ups sexually and she's need some actual therapy but doesn't get it. He said something to the effect of he can't understand how HE had to go to therapy for something that isn't even a problem for him in reality but she on the other hand has real problems she needs therapy for and doesn't go. Cause he said something like his sex addiction thing was HER and HER PEOPLE'S idea in order to help temper her image because of the scandal. And at the time he went along with it cause he honestly didn't want a divorce he was hoping they could work it all out. But eventually, she wasn't feeling it and she wanted it to end he said especially because she wanted to present a certain image. Now this ain't what nobody done told me..this is what I read from an interview that Benet himself gave some years back.

Now on to what you said about her having sexual hangups and other stuff. I myself watched her years ago on the Actors Studio Guild show..and she told a story that made me realize and I think the audience cause it was holy quiet when she told it..why she's a damn nut. First of all..she has father issues. She saw her alcoholic father she said beat the living crap out of her mother brutually. As well as her sister. She said for some reason he didn't hit her as much as he hit her mom and sister and she never understood why exactly. She said she was very scared and it did something to her. She never got therapy for it. Gurl..that audience and the host was looking like WTF..cause she told it in such a strange way..almost like she was in character for a movie or something.

Then I read an interview that SHE did and plus put that together with that big interview (which I saw) that she did with Oprah where she talks about how she thought that she wasn't complete no matter how many accomplishments she had or achievements she made that if she didn't have a man..specifically a husband she felt worthless. That being with a man was the most important over everything else. And she was actually going to kill herself over David Justice..even got in the car in her garage and turned it on..but then she started thinking about her mother and how it would devastate her...so she stopped crying, got herself together, turned off the car..sat there for a while and then went inside. Notice she NEVER said she got therapy for these issues.

Now NEA..you tell me ..cause maybe I'm the one that trippin' but ain't that a recipe for crazy ? And tell me Halle hasn't said, done, and acted crazy in interviews and in public before ? So how the heck people gonna say YOU trippin cause you said she crazy and all this dayum evidence is staring us smack in the face.

Trust me, the reason why Halle is not in a clinic is NOT because I said she was crazy and she's too ashamed to get help. Git outta here!

Sh*t don't just pop up and come out, it takes a long time to hit the bottom.

i've honestly never seen anyone who was reasonably disciplining their child be accused of child abuse (i've actually heard of 911 operators, and other folks telling someone that a person was just disciplining their child and not abusing them), but if you have... okay.

and what i meant was that i'm sure some of these kids who end up in the news for something outrageous did get these "big mama/meemaw/mami" style beatings growing up, and STILL ended up the way they did b/c they weren't being punished effectively, but folks are still quick to jump in like "well they mama shoulda beat they asses!"

i'm not against spanking children, i'm against ****ty, lazy parenting and not learning how to discipline a child properly.
LOL @ 4a women and this spanking biz. Yall are NEVER gonna see eye to eye on this one.

Once school starts on the 23rd I'll be a ghost for a little while (lol ya'll can applaud since I do pop in and out with all my stubborn opinions)...clinical counseling practicum sucks that way.

But that's what I like about over here among this people that regularly post in this thread (including you) though..we have discussed abortion, adoption, spanking, body image, obseity, relationships, marriage, sex, class, gender, homosexuality, transgender and transexual, alcoholism, dropping it like it's hot, parenting, racism, some political stuff, light skinned versus dark skinned, etc. And ain't nobody get called all out their darn name, ganged up on like they the worse person that ever took a breath of air, and deliberately tried to be made to look a fool.

Only time we go in I noticed is when we have what we feel may be a troll that seemingly is trying to threaten the community we have forged together in this section of NC.com.

But what's even more interesting is that we are women of color. I thought we was supposed to be angry, holding grudges, always negative, can discuss anything civilized, ignorant of anything outside of being black, can't let stuff go, cannot get along with other WOC. So what happened.

Well I've come to one conclusion. Yall heffas done been lying. Ain't nare one of yall black. Yall all a bunch of white women that just have kinky hair and don't want to admit it. Yup. I figured it out. Cause everyone knows black women cannot hang out for as long as we have..even welcoming noobs (okay yes I know I'm overkill with references to The Online Gamer ..but I'm in love..so sue me..well no actually sue Keeny because she's the one that introduced me to him..and now I'm obssessed. I'll post my confession about that later) And getting along just fine. I'm sorry. So confess already. I know ya white. You've been caught..so reveal yourselves. Point blank.
Kinky DaySha and demsdata like this.
