NEA, dont make me kill you lol

annabanalise, Im sorry to hear of your loss, i will keep your friend and you in my prayers tonight.

NCC, this man isnt my typical type. He has beautiful eyes and he makes me laugh. Hes also a gemini, which might be a good and bad thing. I can switch subjects like noones business. I love funny men but I need a strong capable man able to handle me , so he seems as if he would be a good fit,

He really dated me in those 8 months and the most we EVAH did in that time was kiss. I think hes scared of me lol

Tonight we went to an authentic chinese restaurant, walked around downtown NY, shopped for clothes for him and just hung out.

This is our second date since we reconnected and I let him kiss me on the lips goodnight , no tongue , no lingering and a nice hug.

Hes sweet and frustrating at the same time. He works a lot , Im ready to be first , not third.

I will give it to him, hes trying to make plans. now I need to send him the link to these earrings I want for my birthday

I'm very sorry. It's such a shock and a blow when we lose people suddenly.

I am so very confused and torn right now. Why must my life be so difficult?

Right now I'm torn between cosmetology and a med degree with a focus on dermatology. I know they may seem unrelated but I have thought this out pretty well. While a license in cosmetology would put me on a faster/cheaper track to a career in the beauty industry, a med degree in dermatology would provide me with a lot of leverage and prestige since my goal is to own my own salon/spa. Plus, a med degree would most likely give me access to the type of lifestyle and income that I want. It's possible with cosmetology but it's gonna be harder.

I'm leaning more towards dermatology because of the financial potential id have and because it's field of medicine that I've always been interested in and since I'm passionate about hair and skin care, having medical training in that field just intrigues me. But I don't have a math or science background. And the reason I didn't pursue it initially was because I thought it would be too hard for me. But now I feel differently about it.

I'm just confused right about now. I have just made things so difficult for myself. I could just continue on my path of just finding a job wherever I can and hope that I'm led to wonderful things by chance and circumstance. *sigh*

You could try both couldn't you? Cosmetology schools tend to be pretty flexible with classes so you should be able to create a schedule with them that works with you so you can get your license. At the same time you can work with the degree you currently have so as to save money to prepare you to go back to school to pursue a chemistry or bio degree which you could use for med school.

I'm not 100% sure but I'm I heard someone mention to me that for med school you don't specifically need a science background, just good grades cause the courses you take will make up for it, but having a background helps. If your university had a med program it may help to ask them directly and explain your situation. They may accept your current degree and you may just have to do supplementary classes.

I'm 26 without an undergrad degree and lived in France for 7+ months because my passion is French and I want to go to university here. I will ALWAYS say go for your dream even if you're not sure if it's the right choice and maybe you should stick with what you have because it's "safe". Good luck!

Just because Solange is out there putting shea butter in her hair every day saying its moisturizing doesnt mean it will work for you.

I dont find inspiration in other women going natural. Honestly I dont. I love to look at different folks doing their thang., its wonderful but I dont stan for NOONE.

I'm not putting anyone down or hopping on some pedestal but you have to do what works for you.

You out there buying everything Elle says in her videos but dont know a b c about your porosity. Then mad as heck when your hair looks like boo boo da fool.

I'm all about maintaining what you have. If you cant ever break shoulder length and youre protective styling until the cows come home.... maybe.......longer hair just isnt in your cards.

BE FAB with what you have!

Plus "stanning" (for anyone over the age of 15) is just....creepy. You can NOT tell me that stalking/stannin' for folks who have hair NOTHING like yours doesn't affect the level of appreciation you have for the hair that grows out of your own head, over a period of time. So many women would be better off in the head, and with the hair on their heads, if they would stay off YouTube.

I appreciate/love all beautiful hair, but I love my hair the most - and that's the truth.

Amen. It just boggles my mind how anyone could covet someone else's hair and not love for their own.

All jokes aside, I think it's an insecurity issue. Coveting is pretty common..so it doesn't really boggle my mind per se but I do find it unfortunate when a person is so wrapped up in what they don't have that they don't appreciate or value what they do have...

I LOVE my hair , what I wouldnt do for another 4-5 inches so it hits my cheeks right but hey it is what it is, BUT I MEAN I LOVE my hair. Every kink, coils and curl up on it makes me smile. I mean its nice to have options ie weaves and such but ain nothing like what I have on my head.

Another thing that gets to me is the obsession with having "shiny" hair. I've said this before, but it always comes up again, when I read a product review and the person raves over how "shiny" a product makes their hair.

For type 4 hair, "shine" is not necessarily indicative of good health, nor softness. I have seen hair that "looks" dry, and have been surprised (after touching it) by the cottony softness. On the other end, I've seen "shiny" type 4 hair, that was hard and greasy to the touch. We gotta learn about our hair, and stop attaching straight/wavy/loose curly hair properties to it.

Moisturized kinky, coily hair OFTEN does not look "shiny". It may have a soft "sheen"...like velvet.
