It's almost 10 minutes into VH1's Hollywood Exes and I must say....I'm really liking this show!

Andrea Kelly is automatically a fave because she's from Chicago. I'm getting good vibes from the other ladies as well. It's kind of refreshing seeing women with so much be so not ratchet. Like, they seem real as hell. Unlike Love & Hip Hop and Basketball Wives, where they have nothing going on but some messiness.

Please, please don't ask me how I did a style, then upon hearing go thru a lengthy speech about how I have "a different grade of hair, so I can do a wash and go/twistout/braidout etc"

So, whatchu ask for? What did you think I'd say?

My hair doesn't look good because of some genetic jackpot you think I hit. It looks good because after two years of figuring out what techniques work, what products I like, and hitting up google, I now know what I'm doing. Nothing more.

Sorry for the usual rant, but I'm tired.

Siri don't proofread my stuff...

"Ooooh girl. you got some good hair" is not a compliment. Or a pick up line.

I don't know wth is up with your attitude lately. Before I left town you were blowing up my phone all night. Talking about how much you want to be with me. Texting constantly. Since I've been back you've been acting weird. If I call you you seem rushed to get off the phone. And the time my call went to voice mail you didn't call back because you say you were "busy". All that day and the next day? Now you're spending all this time with your cousin whose wife poured bleach on his clothes because she suspected him of cheating on these frequent trips you two take to New Orleans. And you telling me she's just cray cray. I really beginning to wonder about all the times you told me were working. I smell a rat. Game over, playa!!

I always thought the "nod" was a southern thing...not specifically a black thing. I nod at people all the time and people nod at me (first or second) regardless of what race they are.

I always associated it with the "tip your hat" to people thing and sense no one wears hats anymore it gradually got changed to a nod.

Maybe it's just where I live but people always acknowledge each other even if they are strangers. Actually, I hear people complain (especially adults) if someone doesn't acknowledge them with a nod/smile/hello etc

Ahhh, as soon as I hit the post button I realized that the black nod is more of an upward type nod and the "general nod" that I use with everyone is more of a downward nod.

I also probably wouldn't use the upward nod with black elders or anyone black I wanted to show respect too even if it is a "sign"...I'd give them the downward nod.

I wonder if the upward nod stems from a "keep your head up" type of signal....that's what it kind of reminds me of now that I think about it (never really put that much thought into it before, it was just automatic).

So I went to the mall today and tried on a dress and loved it but I didn't buy it. I was on a mission to get my Flowerbomb perfume and I was not to be diverted. But now I'm still thinking about it like crazy. I even tried to look for it online but to no avail. I'm gonna have to take a trip to the mall asap.

I nod at people when I have no idea what they are talking about and no real interest in finding out. It is just an okay nod and then I leave and go about my business.

On another note It irks me that the same people who bashed my hair all my life and praised my cousin as having that nice grade like our half white great great grandma and half Choctaw great great grandaddy. (somehow it is never from any black ancestry) have done a 180. They cant believe how my hair grows so fast and have now decided I have gud hair. No i just learned to take care of my hair and I put the work in.

So many things now. First it started with an argument with my husband. I tried to drop it, he kept going. I said things that rubbed him the wrong way. After texting back n forth and getting back on the phone. We came to no resolution. Mostly because men can't understand women half the time. (That's what the omg was for...but now, let's continue)

Finally (on an unrelated note) he says to me our relationship has changed in his eyes because when I went to Chicago in may he didn't want me to go, for good reason we couldn't afford it we both knew. I knew he needed me at home (he's a truck driver). But for me it was necessary. My grandma had died and I needed to clear things that were going on inside of my head about a number of things. He understands that but he says he can't help but feel like our relationship has changed in a negative way. That I didn't put the family first (which I can say I didn't in any way that he can see). He's unsure of what he wants or what is best or something.

Me being who I am, I say; Regardless of what I want, make the decision. I know very well how it feels to be unhappy. I'm always going to be happy with you but if you need time to think, you need a break, whatever. Do that. I can't let u be unhappy with me. That's not who I am. He loves me, wants to be with me. Doesn't want us to breakup/separate/divorce. But he can't get over how I made him feel. All I can do is let the swords fall where they may. And if one falls into my chest and breaks my heart so be it.
