Does sitting under the dryer with a good leave in count as a dc?

Can you tell I'm lazy these days?

Why would women need to "reclaim" the word b*tch? There is nothing inspiring or empowering about calling yourself a HBIC. Being strong willed, dynamic, independent and free speaking does not make me one. It makes me a strong woman.

I don't claim or answer to, the b word, n word , h word, no hey shawty. When I was growing up, calling a woman out of her name got you a beat down by her father, brother and failing that some male family member or friend. Now it seems those same males in families will be the first to call a woman out of her name. SMH

Blahhh I need to get this out.

I started a new job Monday and I already don't feel like I'm meeting my employer's expectations. Over 70% of the things that I am doing are new to me and it's taking a lot of extra effort to learn everything and get up to speed and I keep messing things up.

I have experience working in another lab before but it was different topic of study, different methods and procedures, and a very different work environment. My new supervisor has already had a couple of talks with me about how slowly I'm working and about how it shouldn't be taking this long. I know it shouldn't but the fact of the matter is that it is taking that long!

Today was the THIRD talk about how I'm not working quickly enough.

Then, I was rushing like a crazed maniac trying to get a protocol finished and it backfired because I ended up messing it up! Therefore, it ended up taking me double the time it would have otherwise. My supervisor was not pleased! Ughhhhh

It's just my first week and I know I can get better if I had more time. I'm just not familiar with everything yet. Things that are automatic to others are not to me...I have to look for things, ask where materials are located, and remember it all later. I can't write everything down! I also don't know which details are important and which are just "details" so I get all that mixed up too. Remembering and completing 40+ steps someone just told you 20 minutes ago and completing a procedure you have been doing for 20 years (and have perfected to maximum efficiency) are different!

I'd give up my breaks to get my work done if it weren't a breach of federal law....

Gosh, I hope I don't get fired
Greenjumper I hope they give you a chance to learn the job well. You'll get better when you get into a routine I'm sure. Keep a positive attitude & do your best. If its not for you, something more during will come along.

I can't lie... I judge the heck out of ppl when they post pics of themselves partying in Facebook less than a week after having a baby.

Anywho, the van driver that I escort for on Fridays told me that he can't see through the passenger side window because my bun (on straight hair) was blocking him. I have officially arrived in the land of long hair.

It's not really about that, though. There's nothing that says the characters are white, so why is white the default? Putting in more people of color, and therefore providing a little more representation of millions of people who read these books and watch these movies isn't a bad thing, nor is it difficult. This is a fictional world with characters that could just as easily be people of color as they could be white.
But worse, why do characters described as not white get cast as white? Why did the only casting of a woman of color end up being the beastly, savage character of Catching Fire?

Some day I kind of hope a good director (Ang Lee would have been good) would take on ATLA and do a proper movie.
On the Korra front, there is actually news about Paramount pushing for animated Korra movies. And yes, everyone's reaction was to say that M. Night can't come within 1,000 feet of the production.
