Yea they are, people in healthcare especially. We have no choices because apparently we don't own our bodies. If we did there wouldn't be mandates such as these.

Sorry for being so obnoxious about this. I'll stop now.

really??

My mom is a nurse and she isn't mandated, that being said she loves flu shots so it wouldn't matter anyway.

Yea I do, through that class. Part of the program requires us to do ambulance ride time and clinical experience in the emergency department at the hospital. Counts toward our practical hours.

Why is everyone against vaccinations now in the US? Everytime i read something medical less and less people are getting the shots they need. Is it about Michele Bachman and the right saying they cause health problems? I mean polo and mumps have had cures for years but people end of it the hospital with it because they don't want the shots. Not trying to start anything just curious cause I thought its for your health and others around you.

The flu shot is bs. My kids got the flu shot & then they get the damn flu. I have gotten the flu maybe 3 times in my life. I never got the shot. Its about money. I am not anti immunizations but I am pro
choice when it comes to my body. Until they are old enough to make the choice I own my kids' bodies too. My house is flu shot free & flu free. We also spaced out their reg. vaccinations because its too much at one time. If you have noticed, the recommended vaccine schedule shifts every blue moon just like the advice on whether a newborn should sleep on their back or stomach.

My great granny gets a fly shot every year. She's 80 something. She doesn't get the flu. But then again the only time she leaves the house is to get her flu shot.

I get the flu shot every year and I can say I've never had the flu....I get the sniffles but flu, nope and neither has my child.

I'm pro vaccines, I am up to date on all my shots and I keep up my booster shots as well. I deal with the public daily, I take public transportation and its always somebody with something...every little bit helps. I eat right, take my vitamins daily, exercise (almost regularly), I buy organic & pesticide free meats and veggies but I am a believer vaccines are beneficial and they do work.

+1 to everything said.

I am for immunizations, but what I'm leery about are some of the other ingredients that are in the shots.

Case in point, when I was pregnant with my son, my OB recommended that I get a flu shot. I asked if the shot was still being preserved with thimerosal. She answered, "Yes, but it doesn't have any more mercury in it than a can of tuna." I countered, "But didn't you tell me to completely avoid eating tuna due to the mercury content?"

She paused, and said, "Yes, you're right. But I'm under obligation that I have to tell you about getting a flu shot."

Yea that's the thing, stuff changes.
That's the way life goes doo doo doo that's the way life goes *to the beat of Janet jackson*

That being said. Maybe I need to get the flu shot now BC I haven't gotten it for this year yet and I feels like crap on this lovely morning.

But if I get sick I won't blame the flu shot BC I know the flu shot has nothing to do with it, BC the virus in the flu shot does not cause infection.

that being said, PSA: the flu shot does not cause the flu, the flu shot does not cause the flu!!!!

that's okay if you don't want to get it but don't give out misleading information.

I always hear people saying how they got the flu when they got the flu shot and I'm like :

if you had a bad allergic reaction once (really swollen arms, etc), you shouldn't get the flu shot then.

Michele Bachman is irrelevant to my life, #1.

And #2, I'm not anti vaccinations. I know many have a good track record of preventing diseases, but I cant say the same about the flu vaccine. The data is sketchy imo. Also, vaccines are not cures. They encourage artificial immunity by exposing you to the disease. The flu is different because there are hundreds of viruses that cause it so even with the vaccine you aren't fully protected because it only has 3 strains. I asked the lady why people get the flu after the vaccine and she told me this. In the next breath she said I'm still protected from the flu.

What I am for is the choice to make informed decisions. I am for practicing healthy habits and employing natural remedies. I am for staying home when you're sick. And I am for disease prevention. What I am not for is unnecessary medication. I'm not for the hype around the flu shot and mandates.

i agree coco

I hate unnecessary meds, that why I usually complain for days before I actually go to the doctor. I'd rather just something go away naturally. And I've found that doctor visits end up pointless anyway. EACH TIME I've went they gave me high dosage ibuprofen, like dude. Stop. are you kidding me?? I copayed 20 bucks for this?!? Last time I went for my face rash I told them my mom said I need steroids, and the lady was like "yea....you do" okay, I see you boo.

I'd rather not take meds, plus I have horrible memory.

I never thought of a flu shot as an unnecessary med, because it is a shot I guess because once you get it you don't have to think about it again, and I'm all for not thinking LOL.

Lmao!!

Wow. See.

That's one more example of how I know this is some fluckery. I'm telling y'all this flu shot hype is partly about the coin.
