I hope everybody is okay. Sending good vibes.

Watching this flooding brings back bad memories of Katrina. I will tell anyone if you live in a low lying area and a hurricane is coming you need to run to higher ground. Take what stuff you can and forget the rest. I guarantee you when you have to climb in the attic because water starts pouring in your house you will not give a damn about your stuff. As my aunt's pastor says "I have never seen a Uhaul following behind a hearse."

I have (amodimethicone) but my normal shampoo has coco betaine so I figured I would be okay. I feel like I should be squeaky clean before a style like this.

I really wouldn't strip my hair like that, but that's jmho. Really a gentle sulfate free shampoo does get 'cones out--no need to use harsh detergents. If you are going into a protective long term style like that, you want your hair to have all the moisture it can get because the fake hair will drain it and you don't want to load your hair with products after it has been braided up because it will build up and your style will look old very quickly.
i'm fine. nothing happened. outside just looks like it rained really heavy. some of the power lines are hanging low but they didn't break. i had power the whole time but it flickered a little. benefits of living in the north bronx i suppose. we're on high land, far from the coast, AND i live on top of a hill.

i was considering moving to northern manhattan. ˇya no! i'm looking in riverdale now.

Always keep the blowdryer moving fast, not low like a flat iron/hot comb.

good luck!

PLEASE TRY AND STAY CALM WHEN I ASK THIS QUESTION AND ANSWER NEUTRALLY. IF YOU CAN'T, KEEP PUSHING:

Ok so I was reading up on a presidential candidate and so far what I have tea it seems that they want government to butt out as much as possible. For example they want healthcare to be competitive and Obamacare repealed. However if its competitive won't that really screw some consumers over? Even energy consumption they are like butt out and not to give subsidies to those who invest in other types of energy. Idk. Little confused right now....

frankly, i think a large portion of tea party members don't really understand what they're asking for. especially since they'd be screwing themsevles over in most instances. some of these ppl are on public assistance right now talmbout they want the gov't to butt out.

furthermore, these ppl don't seem to get that there is a god chunk of the population that just CAN'T participate in society w/o gov't assistance, like the MR/DD, for example. i work w/ this population an i'd hate to think what they'd be doing/ how they'd be living w/o SSI.

this whole ideology just makes me think of a cartoon villain brainwashing ppl into doing things that aren't in their best interest.
If you're my teacher/instructor, do that. I don't need the unnecessary profanity, the sexist commentary, the jokes, or the disrespect. I am here to learn. There is only so much foolishness that I can take. I don't have a problem with you telling me what I'm doing wrong, but I don't need you to cuss AT me and be just plain old disrespectful. This is not something I've done a hundred times. This stuff isn't second nature yet. If I'm learning I'm going to make mistakes and I should be in a learning environment where I can make mistakes and learn from them. But if you come at me with disrespect I'm either gonna give it right back, blow up or shut down- neither of which I want to do. So please, just do your damn job and carry yourself with some professionalism.
