If you can hold off and limit driving then I would wait as long as I could. After hurricanes some stations here ration and they won't let you get but $20 worth. You burn more gas waiting in line to get gas. The only thing that helps me is I have access to a company car. It is mandatory we fill up before storm then after storm the corporate office will bring in their own gas supply.

I drive 20 miles each way to work. The office is running on generator so Im going in to work and use power and charge my devices. My son is with me at work because school is closed. We have no power at home but we do have heat
I have 1/4 tank of gas and not sure if Im getting some tonight. We have to eat out every night or try to cook in the dark and make one meal that will last because we cant save it
Im tired of noodles , we had hot dogs last night ( halal beef , yum) which was a nice change but a sister is TIRED!
The nearest hotel is in ny that isnt filled and $499 a night......umm

I already know when I get my own property, I'm gonna be that lady that's protective and screams at people who walk all over the grass, trampling plants, letting their dog and kids run loose and etc.. unless I move into a place/neighborhood that is secluded and my lot is big enough to where I don't have to concern myself with neighbors.
My neighbors are just like that and it's so aggravating. We have the same size lot, you have plenty of yard on your side for your dog and kids to run over there. Yet you keep letting them come over here. And your dog needs that dog whisperer dude because it is too dang bad. Pooping all over our plants and grass. They don't listen either.

Sorry sister. That is rough with that long drive. I hope you get gas and power soon.
I have taken a sleeping bag and pillow to work and slept over in a dark corner many a time. I soak up their generator. There is a kitchen with a stove and fridge. Only down side is no shower so have to take heaux baths. My job doesn't mind us choosing to stay overnight sometimes because at other times we are required to stay overnight. While it sucks being at the job site that long it could save you a lot of hassle and money. If there is no kitchen then take your George Foreman and you'll be straight.

I am feeling guilty. My good friend is due next month and I don't think there is going to be a baby shower. I planned the shower for her daughter who just turned one yesterday. I really don't have time and I can't get off on a Saturday anyway. I really think her family should step up but knowing how if I had not done it last time she would not have had a shower then I don't think it is going to happen. I don't want her to be mad at me so I haven't said anything but I'm worried she is expecting me to do it and will be disappointed.

I didn't have a shower for my second child. Its not typical in my family unless there are multiples or the last child was many years ago.

they laid off a bunch of ppl at my job today. they pretty much ONLY laid off ppl from my program, and kept ppl from the other ones. i was supposed to go to, but i barely made it by the skin of my teeth b/c they JUST switched me from the staffing agency over to their payroll.
i'm sad as hell that my friends got cut.

Shawny, people up the block of my street still don't have electricity. Major aves don't have functioning traffic lights or traffic cops. I almost got hit twice today! I hope this is not the reality where you are.
Also, at first I was feeling some type of way about police being stationed at all of the open gas stations in my area...then I went to Union, Hillside, along Route 22 and saw the same dang thing... I am going to Millburn tomorrow to see if the queues for gas are shorter... reaching that quarter tank...

I wish I could stay at the office but Bergen County in NJ isnt hearing that. Hell, Bergen county is down , nothing is open but US and the gas stations. Our office doesnt have couches and things like that, Its mostly chairs here and there. I carpooled with a couple of friends today. My gas light came on yesterday.
Keeny its like that everywhere with the police. Two blocks over has lights, then next block , no lights, Stop lights are out, people are fighting , stealing gas and going crazy. Gas lines are 3 miles long on the Parkway.
Its a reallllll crazy situation. If I dont get gas this weekend, Im stranded as far as work unless I can carpool or find a working internet to work from home.

Send me a naked FINE man to my house lol
Thanks so much for the offer but unless you have a gas truck that so happens to float down my street your prayers are enough.
Compared to some folks we are doing excellent. I just need these gas stations to open fully.

Sorry.
The storm danger is over but after that comes the crime danger. Some good people lose their minds at times like these and some bad people take advantage of the situation. Be careful. After Katrina my complex had two incidents. Someone tried to steal my neighbor's generator one night and she ran out there with a gub. Then someone tried to break in my place in broad daylight but ran off because he almost got caught. My neighbors put up a large sign that said "we shoot looters" and believe me they meant it.
BTW how about a fine naked gas truck driver at your door to fill your tank? He will make a gourmet meal then after he rubs your feet, he will wash your hair and feed you chocolates.

At this point you could send Snape and as long as he had some gas he could get it.
