No I'm not taking them down now. They were done on 12.31.12 but I am not looking forward to taking them down when I am ready to, which is keeping me from enjoying them fully lol.

I wonder is it really so damaging to be "best friends" with your kid like on gilmore girls? all these chicks on jezebel complaining being too close to mom damaged them for life. I dont want to damage my baby for life, but that whats been getting me through this hellish pregnancy. the thought that by the end of feb. ill have my own built in, permanant amiga (hopefully with papi's unfairly thick perfect eyelashes.) now that's wrong and harmful. I mean I know I have to be her mom first and lay down the law sometimes, but cant we be close, too? why cant we be the gilmore girls?

I wish my mom was not so frightened of being friends with me. We would have been closer today if she allowed herself to be close to me. I would have felt more comfortable talking to her, and those open lines of communication are extremely valuable tools of parenting. If you aren't friends with your child, they won't feel the need to share what is going on in their lives for better or for worse. The girls from the bad girls club look to me as if they had larger issues than mothers who were close to them.
ETA: Oh you were talking about Jezebel, I have the same opinion on that as well.

My daughter has stated to me that she considers me to be one of her closest friends. She talks to me about everything. I established with her a long time ago that there is not a subject that is off limits, from sex to drugs and everything in between. I am still her mother and I disciplined her, but I would let her know why it was necessary afterward. I even let her speak her piece at times, if she disagrees with something that I have told her to do. If she feels there is a different way to do it. Once or twice she has been able to change my mind. I let her choice her form of discipline on occasion. Don't get me wrong, there were a few challenging times, but we made it through them because of our relationship.
She is now a 20 college student who feels her mother is one of her best friends.
True story:
While I was visiting my sis, I get a call from my daughter stating she feels like she is dying. She has the worst headache she has ever had in her life. She sounded so pitiful. I laughed and she begged me to stop. "Not so loud she said". "My head is about to fall off". I couldn't help it because I knew what she didn't know. She was experiencing a hangover. She had told me she would be going out with her friends the night before. I had previously given her pointers on how not to get drunk or get a hangover, but of course she didn't listen this time. I kept laughing and finally I told her what she needed to do to get over the hangover. It is now a running joke between us. Reminiscent of the episode when Vanessa got drunk on the Cosby show.

My worst fear is getting an std or an incurable std! Just thinkin about it makes me wana freak out. Do yall think it's likely that the tests will come back with something extra? This is the first time I have had either one

You can call those targets before you drive around searching. Usually test markets are major cities but Target is fickle. My local target sells SM but not miss jessies. But a target in the nearby "hood" 30 min away has SM, mixed chicks, mj, the whole 9.

Yeah, my Target is not a super and it just started selling the curls, sm and mj natural lines a few months ago. Oddly they were selling deva products when they opened then stopped.

The natural hair game got celebrities running around "embracing" their "natural hair".
Unless its a twa I'm not buying it. showing up with bsl hair ain't fooling nobody.

ITA lol. You can't be embracing no natural hair with a wig.
But there are some celebs who are natural under their wigs and weaves. Like I think Raven said she was always natural, she just always wore weaves and wigs to protect her hair from the styling. Then she decided to just start wearing her natural hair.

Dominican Hair Products site
I know people have expressed interest in Dominican Hair products. This site seems to be a clearing house for ordering many different brands. I was interested in Dominican products back in the day but I found out hardly any of them are silicone and mo free. But I haven't looked at everything on here so there might be something CG friendly.
