The New & Improved Say It I Dare You

There are so many misconceptions regarding natural hair until it's not even funny. There is this huge misconception that the hair will grow at a ridiculously fast rate, that it will be wash & go like you can actually simply wash your hair and run out of the house, and that you are guaranteed a curl pattern of some sort. You can have a loose curl pattern, extremely tight one, or none at all. I don't see what the issue is. If you discover that you don't have a loose curl pattern and you want one then simply texturize or texlax! There is no shame in it IMO. Outside of that, no hair product will miraculously transform the hair from 4b to 3b, 4a to 3a or anything of that nature. Gel and hair creams are not magic wands. Love what you have!

People tend to get offended when you share your opinion or a truth w/them when they asked you for your opinion in the first place. We have already said many times that the hair typing system is not one size fits all. There are no gold stars awarded for a certain hair type. The grass is always greener on the other side. I remember being in college and my RA who had 2b-3a-ish hair was always spending hours on her on it and she would be so frustrated.

Another thing I don't understand is the defensive attitude, "You just want my hair to be a certain type! You are denying me an opportunity to have 3xyz hair!" What does it benefit me to deny your hair anything? I don't believe anybody is sitting back saying, "Hah! I denied another type 3!!!" What exactly is wrong with having type 4 hair anyway? Why is that the leper of natural hair? I know many type 4s who get compliments all day about their hair. Is it compliments and attention people are seeking? I'm really trying to understand this.

Oh, and multitextured hair is not 4a roots, 3a middle, 2a ends.

I really hope I do not come off as being mean. That is certainly not my intentions, but being honest and presenting facts is what I try to do when I present anything to anyone. It may hurt when you learn the truth or you may feel silly when you discover what you believed is not a fact, but don't be mad about it. It's just hair.

I'm done preaching.

Then, we got the folks who think we don't know what time it is. We don't know heat damage, from legit texture. You give them time to fess up...you let them know early on that somethin' ain't right with their scenario. BUT they insist on playin' bald headed games.

I wonder how many times I'm going to cry during Gossip Girl tonight. I can't even breathe. If they kill Chuck...I can't even fathom the idea...

Tonight's episode was good but a little frustrating and not what I thought it was going to be.

Theorhetically speaking, since 1/2 a inch a month is average, would 1-2 inches a months be possible for some people? Or is that just straight up crazy talk?

Wait, why did I think my TV was too loud and went to turn it down...then I realized it was on a lower level than I usually have it, so I turned it up. That made absolutely no sense.

I know I should be grateful that I'll even have a home to return to after graduation...but....

Damnit! Can you NOT treat me like a child?! I'll make my bed when I'm good and ready! A sheet off my bed is no skin off your back! If this is the kind of petty isht we're going to be arguing about when I come home for good....Lawd, help us.

Again, I know...it didn't have to be an argument. I could have just made the damn bed. But it's the PRINCIPLE of the thing now. Why do you have to dictate every minute detail of my life??

Sure hair will grow, but damaged hair like that ain't gone do nothing but break off and dance away. If it was healthy i may have been like okay she takes uber good care of her hair, doing all the right things and just a little more blessed with speed than the average.......but that stuff on her head....no way too much damage on her head and not much of a clue in it. It's only a matter of time before it all crumbles.

So for like a week I've been eating gluten free and dairy free waffles for breakfast (they're really yum) and I get really full afterwards (I usually eat two with banana cut up or an apple cut up).

I don't really know where I was going with that.

But I love to eat and I really CAN'T even glutton after eating that.

Almost finished with "The Fault in Our Stars". It's super good! Kind of overly teenager-y dramatic but in a way it kind of has the right to be. It definitely has some deep passages that made me think.

I'd recommend it to anyone who likes young adult!

His writing style stays consistant throughout his novels, I think. Kind of overly-dramatic but makes you think. I also have "Will Grayson Will Grayson" but haven't started it.

We'll have to talk about it once we both finish reading!
