I'm so frustrated with my mom. She's always had an annoying cough, but ever since she got the flu she's been coughing every single day all day and it is way worse. It is super loud and ineffective. Most of the time, once she gets started she continues for like 20 minutes straight. It has been 5 weeks since she has gotten over the flu and she's still coughing. I cannot take it anymore but she refuses to go to the doctor! I make her tea but either she wont drink it or she'll put tons of sugar in it. Cough suppressants and syrups do not help but she keeps taking them. I told her it wouldn't work anyway but of course she wont listen. She won't eat right. She doesn't wanna do anything and doesn't care that her coughing not only aggravates me and others, but is unhealthy. I'm worried that something serious is going on because its just not normal. But she won't listen to me. She never listens to me about anything.

Better find a way to force her to the doc. That could turn into pneumonia. I hope she feels better soon and that it's nothing serious.

I totally agree and pneumonia is nothing to play with. I had it once and ended up in the hospital in an oxygen tent.

Hey ladies. I hope everyone is well & had a good Valentines day. My work life has been hectic. Going on a date night tonight that will be fun. Its been months since we got out without the kiddos. In other news my hair is borderline shoulder length.

Have I missed anything? Babies, boyfriends, products, drama?

But pneumonia? You really think it could be pneumonia? She isn't presenting any other symptoms I would associate with pneumonia, just a chronic dry and loud cough.

Eta: and wouldn't I have caught it by now if it were pneumonia?

I think she needs some tests. X-ray and what else?

when I had pneumonia, I had no idea I was even sick, I was perfectly fine minus a cough until one day it hit me like a truck.

pretend youre getting ice cream and drive her to the doctor...lol

Ive had walking Pneumonia which is very deadly as you can walk around and drop dead.

My doctor told me i will get pneumonia every year if im not careful when I catch a cold

its no joke , plus I have asthma and bronchitis

I wonder if I get the flu shot will that mess up my apparent immunity to the flu. I've never gotten the shot but I'm around somebody with the flu every yr, ppls kids and esp my husband, I be all up under him. But I never get sick
