i have a friend at school who has challenges with this. how do you style your short 4 b hair?

the only styles i can think of:

- apply products. comb hair into a neat afro.

- or do a bantu knot out and get a defined afro when the hair dries.

- or if you feel self conscious about the newly cut short hair, wear a hat. when you wear a hat/ head covering you forget about your hair appearance and can focus on other more important stuff. i am a fan of hats, berets, crotchet hats, scarves, wide hairbands, etc. -- but that's because i have a conservative background. there is beauty and strength in modesty and this is part of true african culture.

- or do medium size box braids or cornrows with or without braiding extensions. this is also part of african culture. but avoid the small braids, they will break off your hair.

I don't really know how to stye mine either. I let it dry in a down-ish way. (it grows UP so that takes a bit of finangling)

tell him or her to walk into school with their hair however they feel comphrotable and try not to look like they are thinking. Who's looking? what are they thinking? are they staring? what? no, they wouldn't be....well maybe...

instead give off an yeah, totally rockin this style. You so jealous, i can feel your eyes on me and I LOVE IT > aura :3
