Can 4b's wash and go?
Except for a TWA, can/do 4b's rock wash and gos? Would the hair get tangled/matted?

You can do whatever you want lol, everyone's hair is different no matter the hair type, I could go out on a limb and say many people with 4b hair might experience ssk's and tangles because of the extreme curly/coilyness of the hair but depending on how you do your wash&go's and the upkeep you could keep tangle and matting to a minimal

Agreed with SimplyT.
Also, if that is your hair in the pic in your post, I am not so sure you have 4b hair. I see a very clear curl pattern. JMO. Curl size is not the most important thing to learn about your hair anyway, so...off to wash and go for you! I think the key to it is to use a product that will keep your hair from tangling on itself. If I want a wash and go to last more than a day, I use gel.

Yes, that is my hair in the signature. It is naked hair that is (partially) air dried. However, my question was just more of a general question about 4b hair.

I can't do a wash & go unless I want to rock an Afro...and then even if an Afro is the goal, I have to wash & wait & wait & wait, and then go.

My sister is a 4b of around armpit length (and she's 5'9", so no small feat lol), who does regular wash and goes during the summer. It does look like an Afro. She loves it. I think she's definitely low maintenance, doesn't fret over every single strand knot she gets, or do complex regimens, but she doesn't have tangled or matted hair. Not positive what she does, but I think she finger detangles every time she washes or conditions? I think every day or every two to three days. Maybe I'll ask her, if you are interested.
edit: I just remembered that I did wng's too last winter. I cowashed every day or every other day and finger detangled in the shower. Didn't have issues with tangling but stopped because the conditioner was irritating my scalp. I am also a 4b.

I'm 4a/4b & I don't do wash in go's. My hair tangles easily and takes FOREVER to dry. Also, when wet my hair shrinks up more than 50% of its real length. I like to stretch my hair out with various methods and wear it big!

Sure, I don't see why not. It's your hair and you are free to experiment with any style you'd like.

I'm 4a/4b, and have a TWA that's about 4 inches, however shrinkage only leaves me with 1.5 to 2 iches. I personally don't like WnG's because of shrinkage, but I did one today, took FOREVER to dry, but when it did, it was a curly/coily fro. I did NOT like it, but it is what it is.

Yes we can.
Check out cynthiarf, shidanaturals and itsmemonchichi on YouTube.
I personally think they have the best techniques so far.
Also myself in signature. It's one of the styles I love to blog about.

I do wash and go's everyday; however, I have to detangle in the shower. I don't have to wait. The detangling in the shower allows my hair to stretch, I have about 4.5 inches

I'd say no... For me. I would probably find myself crying after doing all the detangling after a cowash, only to step out of the shower looking like a sideways disco queen. This isn't a jab at naturals who do this all the time and look great, but for me, my hair is so long, and shrinks at so many different rates, that I would look straight up busted if I did a wash and go.
And the matting! My hair mats in the shower if I don't put conditioner in it and detangle each section fast enough.
And the BREAKAGE, SSKs and SPLIT ENDS. I can't stress this enough, if you have the length, respect it and keep it off your shoulders!
(steps down, not to be overzealous or generalizing).

So far, I've only had good experiences with "wash n go puffs/buns." My hair shrinks up too much for my liking..when it comes to wearing the wash n go all the way down..but gets pretty defined. Might save that for when my hair gets longer.
