Default Beautiful Textures

Ok so Im bored and didnt have anything else to do, so I thought I would start a thread for the Beautiful textures line.

Now to let you know , this line is NOT 100% natural so it does contain items that some might not like. The styling videos are a little cheesy if you ask me but I didnt get the products based on that , I was intrigued by the fact they tell you to mix each product with each other to get different effects

What I liked immediately about the line is thats its affordable and the ounces you get per item is very nice.

I saw someone review the oil in a hits or miss thread so I researched , saw the line and purchased the entire set.

Ive tried out all of the products and so far my favorites are the shampoo and the oil. The shampoo had amazing suds and my hair was soft after rinsing.

The oil is very nice for mixing with the other items in the line.

I used the oil for a prepoo mixed with the deep conditioner, then shampoo'd, then used the leave in with a little of the oil, the mixed the Curl Control and Moisture Butter together for twists. I sealed the ends with the oil

If my hair was completely dry the next day I would have enjoyed my twist out more. The next day, I added some of the leave in and then sealed with the oil, much better results for my flat twist out

The deep conditioner, curl pudding and curl creme all have the same texture, except the curl creme is looser than the deep conditioner , and the curl pudding is looser than the curl creme. They all smell the same, a mango-ish island-y smell.

I looked at the site awhile back. Are the stylers loaded with oils? Those tend too be too much for my hair.

Cerendipity, thanks for opening my eyes to this. I like the Roots of Nature Butter Whip, so I want to check out the Curl Control Pudding. So far, I'm resisting the urge to buy the promo pack, and I'm hoping it comes to my local Sally's in February. Staying tuned for more reviews and off to do more research.

Adthomas, yes the stylers have butters and oils in them

Lisa, I noticed a lot of good feedback on their FB page. A friend of mine tried a couple of items and she only liked the deep conditioner. She offered to give them away on the my blog sometime next week

If anyone is interested I've been looking at the Sally's site tonight and all the BT line is on sale for $5.89. The site says it's in the stores too.
I wanted to try the curl cream until I saw the dreaded dimethicone. Oh well for curlies who don't mind cones this might be a good time to try it.

I order the BT and took it back to Sally today.. The deep Condish is ok.. Put later on it dried my hair out.. I used the RR Condish, the leave in & the curl pudding., my hair is 4c.. To me it better for 3 type hair.. If at all..

I dont think it had anything to do with being 4c. Im not 4c and dimethicone is the devil for my hair. The buildio dries my hair out quickly. All 3 of those products have it so u had a lot on your hair. I defintely wouldnt use this if i wasnt a frequent shampooer.

I tried their products and was not impressed at all. The rr deep conditioner made my hair dry and the curly pudding did nothing. I returned them both and will not be purchasing anything else from this line.

Well, I bought the shampoo and the Curl Control Pudding. Will try the pudding next week...I'm coloring my grays then putting my hair in a bun for the week. The shampoo was decent. I didn't pre-poo detangle. Hair and scalp felt clean, but not stripped. Hair strands felt smooth and not rough. It didn't melt the tangles I started with, but it didn't cause any futher tangling either. That said, there is a suggestion on the label to add a bit of the DC to the shampoo. I will definitely use this up, but not sure if I'll repurchase. I'm still trying to get my hands on the CON Argan Oil shampoo. Why can I find ALL the other CON products on the ground, but not this shampoo? Makes no sense. Anyhoo, will report back next week on the pudding.

PM sent. Once I try the CON and the Bobeam bars, I'll be content...I think.

I tried the Curl Control Pudding by itself to see what it had to offer. For me, the Roots of Nature Butter Whip is more moisturizing, feels like it actually has some oil in it, and is better at frizz control...the Butter Whip tops SM CES in frizz control, too. These are the only curl creams I have tried in this price range. I got nice results when I used SM Moisture Milk as a LI then the Pudding then CJ CIAB on top. Then again, I may have gotten good results with just the Moisture Milk and CIAB...haven't tried that yet.

I have grown fond of the shampoo and will probably repurchase. I will use up the Pudding, but it's not a repurchase. I probably won't try anything else, because I prefer not to layer cones on top of cones.

I bought the Curl Defining Pudding today. I'll probably wash my hair Tuesday night, so I'll try it for a twistout then...has anyone used this for a WnG? Any hold?

I think the hold is on the lighter side. It's a flexible hold that's easy to fluff out when the hair dries. I suggest a gel on top to manage frizz if you fluff a lot, and to ensure your hair stays fly until you return home.

ETA: I got better results on damp hair (i.e. can't squeeze water out) than wet hair. I prefer all my products on damp hair.

I agree with the hold being on the lighter side.. I couldn't get my coils to clump with this.. The Moisture Butter did a better job (though that was still too light).
I wouldn't recommend the curl defining creme for wash n goes on type 4 hair. Maybe I'll try it at a later date on twist outs/braid outs.

HATE!

I might as well have bought Pink Oil Moisturizer. This isht is wack. And it's STANK.

I did a twistout with the Pudding. First off, the crap has NO slip. I finger detangled my hair in the shower so I expected to breeze through a final detangling with the TT and pudding before twisting. FALLACY. I would have been better off combing with plain water.

After takedown my hair is greasy and dry (and it STANKS like old lady perfume). If I didn't have homework I would rewash RIGHT NOW.

I wish I could find the creators and dump the pudding over their heads. I'm like irrationally upset by this lol. I think I feel duped because the line is advertised along the same vein as a lot of the "new" natural hair products but the it's really more of the same old Softee grease in prettier packaging.

Default Love the whole line.

I tried this after a lady at Sallys was raving about it and I love it I have tried the whole entire line and they all work very well together. I have 3b curly hair and I'm on 4 day hair I never get 4 day hair. I co washed and deep conditioned then applied the leave in followed by the curl defining cream I diffused my hair then scrunched after I applied the butter. I use the butter to condition my curls in the morning but have barely any frizz and big hair which I love. The curl defining cream did make my hair feel dry but after applying the butter it was no issue. The line is affordable and smells bomb.
