So I had the easiest transition. Now that I've been fully natural for a few months, I'm begin to struggle. I can't keep my hair moisturized. My transition til now I've been using Shea moisture entire line, herbal essence hello hydration, coconut oil, evil, and Shea butter. I do spritz and everything. I don't think my products are heavy enough. Also idk how to style it at this length. My twist outs don't come out right lately so I put them in a puff when all fails I run to ole faithful... My Beshe Drew wig!!!

Help. Tips? Suggestions?
No tips really, but your hair looks lovely!

My hair is in the 4s, low in porosity, high in density and coarse.

Love: QB - all of it, Bobeam - shampoo bars, Darcy's Botanicals - Pumpkin Seed Conditioner, Coconut Cupuacu Pomade, KBN - Shealoe Leave-in, Oyin - Juices & Berries, Kinky Curly - Knot Today, Ayurvedic treatments, my Denman and the cloud of kinky goodness on my head that I get to play with!
You might want to switch what you use. I am a 4b and my hair hated Shea Moisture! Are you sealing in your oils? Try different products and with your twist outs are you using gel?

Over time the Shea moisture was not effective in my hair. I used their products from Nov to late Dec last year. I switched to Mixed chicks deep conditioner which has a cone in it but it worked well for me. Only problem was I went through it fast. I found mop c system hydrating conditioner at tjmaxx 32Oz for 15 bucks. Great stuff. My hair loves it. I also use ouidad climate control gel to minimize frizz.
About my hair:

daily conditioner-HE Honey I'm Strong (use as li)

Also, if you're finding it difficult to style your short hair, try using heavier products so you can weigh down the hair and get more use out of the length.

Thank you ladies ! I just bought rosemary oil and apricot oil to put in my conditioner. I have used gel before but with Shea moisture. It looked nice..then got puffy. I want to try my honey child type 4 cream and naturalista cosmetics leave in. Hopefully they'll be heavy enough. I still use coconut oil, evil, and JBCO

My twistouts always came out looking crazy too. lol Idk why
I don't know if you need heavier products, aren't SM products pretty heavy? They were too heavy for my hair and I hated all of 'em except the shampoo.
Maybe lighter/water based products would give you more moisture.
4c wiry thick nappy low porosity hair
Poo: SM black soap
Rise out/Detangler:
DC/: Avocado+ oil + Honey
Spritz: Oyin J&B
Moisturizer: OH Dew
Sealant:BSP/Bask tapioca cream
I get the best twist outs when I use Donna Marie Mira Curling Gelly but i got very bad flakes I'm guessing b/c I put it on top of Shea butter. I did my twist on dry hair also. It really weighed my hair down and gave me good length

What is your porosity?

Do you live in a humid or dry climate?

Also, sometimes it can be a technique thing (referring to your failed twist outs). I have tweaked certain things about my twists over time so that I can get the best definition possible...unless I want a fuller set, in which case I do some things slightly differently.

I have seen that shea moisture products can be hit or miss for some people.

I don't know how to close this topic but I'd like to thank everyone for the replies. I have found my staples for now and finished the Shea moisture without problem by mixing it with kckt. People said not to mix it but w.e it worked for me. Water and glycerin has worded wonders with definition and moisture. I seal everything with raw Shea butter. I actually stopped using coconut oil til the summer. I don't know why it didn't click in my head that if it hardens when cool it would harden on my hair lol thank you ladies and you helped a lot my hair loves heavy creams. Uhmmm Yea
