Im so disappointed at my hair... I'm almost a yr natural and I've yet to figure out how to maintain moisture. Things I know about my hair: low porosity, protein sensative, hates aloe and coconut oil. Lately my hair has been very fragile, dry and lacks curls... I've been co washing for the last couple of days... I've tried suave natural (apple), he ltr and gftn. I've tried a hot oil treatment on dry hair and water/glycerin. I need help (already looked in other threads). Is there anyone w/ hair like mine???? Product rec., regimen,or tech. greatly appreciated!

Products:
Sm retention shampoo
Gftn conditioner
He ltr conditioner
Jc wdt
Cj asl
Olive oil & almond oil

sounds like you need a little protein

hot oil treatments followed by water and glycerin?

I am protein sensitive myself but once a month I use a light protein followed or mixed with a moisturizing treatment
No not after the hot oil treatment just in general. Yeah I might need some protein :/

Even though your washing with conditioner, do you think you might be washing too much? I feel water can be very drying. Maybe you should try a few days without washing and just lightly using products.
High Porosity, Fine, Thin Density, Low Elasticity
Suave for co-wash and rinse out. SM restorative as leave in. Ogx mousse, la looks, la bella, and cantu natural for stylers. Clarify and low poo once a month.

Most made my curls looked good but were too strong and made my hair really dry even after a follow up moisturizing treatment. Anything with coconut milk for example makes my hair like straw. Same with yogurt. For me just using a rinse out conditioner with silk or wheat protein followed by a non-protein rinse out keeps my moisture/protein balance in check.

I will say my number one cause of dryness is buildup and a clarifying treatment takes care of that for me.

My hair is in the 4s, low in porosity, high in density and coarse.

Love: QB - all of it, Bobeam - shampoo bars, Darcy's Botanicals - Pumpkin Seed Conditioner, Coconut Cupuacu Pomade, KBN - Shealoe Leave-in, Oyin - Juices & Berries, Kinky Curly - Knot Today, Ayurvedic treatments, my Denman and the cloud of kinky goodness on my head that I get to play with!
