Hi, im new to this. I just did the big chop almost a month ago, and I have no idea how to style my twa... Im trying different hair regimen. What do you think is the best for first time twa to soften up the curls?

How short is the hair?

Are you looking for styles or a hair care regimen, or both?

The beauty of a TWA (for me, anyway) is that you don't have to do much with it. You could pick it out, try to define coils if definable coils exist, do comb/finger coils if you have enough hair...get some cute accessories if you are that sort of person....

I big chopped on January 17,2012 and i was looking around to see what others use on their twa's and found your thread. I have 3b/mainly3c hair. I use gentle hair cleansing creams- Curl Junkie Daily Fix and I have found a new love hair Rules Cleansing cream( this leaves the hair very soft). I will daily condition and co-wash with Curl Junkie Argan and oilve oil conditioner. Cj products an get expensive to jsut co-wash with so I have found that Suave tropical coconut and Alberto VO5 champagne kiss conditioners work as nice substitutes when i am trying to make my cj conditioner last longer. I also love curl junkie rehab as a leave in or deep conditioner. i also purchased a gallon of jessicurl deep treatment for a deep conditioning treatment that I use once a week and I use this as a leave in as well- it detangles nicely but does not give me any curl definition. Oyin hair dew is a very nice leave in conditioner and gives me great curl definition and I don't have to use anything else. If I need a little more hold for a rainy day or dewy day I use original moxie hair bling and on top of that curl junkie banana honey butta leave in( this helps to give mad curl definition and curl clumping) . Oyin hair dew topped with original moxie also gives me mad curl definition and curl clumping. I use alot of stuff.

by the way I don't do alot to my hair. I dont even detangle very often, maybe 3 times a month if that much. I am enjoying the fact that I don't have to do a whole lot to my hair. I had long relaxed hair and that long stuff is alot of work. so enjoy your twa while it last bc it is going to grow out. Hope this helps and your question is answered.
for definite/instant softness: invest in oyin hair dew, use on damp hair and this wont break the bank too much.
I am going to the atlanta hair show this month and will be trying qhemets line which I heard is excellent and bask so i will check back with you if this stuff works for me
