Default Leaving In Regular Conditioner

Hey, you guys. I had a quick question. I'm natural and I have a lot of different types of hair textures, but mostly patches of 3C and 4B. I'm of Eritrean/Ethiopian decent, so a lot of my cousins have beautiful, soft, 3C coils, but I have a lot thicker hair than they do.
I have a lot of problems keeping my hair moisturized, and the only thing that seems to work is to co-wash every 2 days, and leave in a bit of regular conditioner (Tresemme). My cousins all do it, but a lot of my african-american friends say that it causes a lot of dryness and breakage. Does anyone have any insight to this?
The longest my hair keeps the conditioner in it is 36 hours, so that may have something to do with why my hair isn't falling out. Let me know!

I use regular conditoner as my leave in but Tresemme naturals i use as a rinse out because for me it is moisturizing enough to be li. A lot of naturals say it is the same for them. Also a bit of oil to seal in moisture usually helps regardless of hair type.

Even though tresseme doesn't work for me. I would also recommend adding some oil over the conditioner.

Well i use Giovanni Smooth as Silk conditioner
It is in the organic section of Walmart or Target. This is the best conditioner i've ever used on my hair and it is organic. I usually leave it in(after wash ) for about 1hour(braided), (i braid my hair while the conditioner is in there)
Then i wash the conditioner out (with my braids still intact) ...so there will be some conditioner left over in my hair..but not a lot to clog up the pores in my scalp

you can either air dry or blow dry(unbraiding each braid) i think the conditioner also acts as a heat protectant as well..but the results are great. My hair is really soft like silk(REALLY!)

i lose a LOT less hair doing this method....

I forgot to add..before i wash my hair i use the coconut/lime relaxer treatment(LOOK THIS UP for more info it may help you). It really isnt a relaxer(though people call it that) but it REALLY conditions your hair to almost looks like another texture(like from 4b to a 4a, or 4a to 3c.. etc) after you do it for a while.

Anyway i think this also adds to my hair being conditioned. I use to have a problem with my hair breaking off. It grows fast..but it would break off..and i had no idea why..now i know because it was DRY!! Now my hair is shoulder length(where im keeping it! ) though it does continue to grow i trim it to keep it shoulder length. My hair is WAY to thick to deal with..plus i HATE doing my own hair LOL! Oh im a 4b natural texture btw. Havent relaxed my hair in 12yrs..

From my personal experience having such delicate textured hair(4a/4b hair) we need to use the most delicate products(like organic stuff) organic products are the only products that have worked for me..either that or i make my own organic hair products

I have never had a problem with leaving in (certain) rinse out conditioners...actually, my hair loves it. So I would disagree with your friends based on my experiences, but people's hair likes different things.

Tresmmes natural and I add a half a cup of coconut oil to the bottle. Shook it up good and it works wonders on my hair.

That's similar to how I use Giovanni Smooth as Silk Conditioner!

After washing and conditioning my loose hair I apply the Giovanni to my hair detangle and then braid it into 10 sections. I don't leave it in for long ( no more than 5 mins) then I rinse out with the braids still in. This leaves a small amount of conditioner in my hair.

It's one of the few conditioner that I would leave in.

I use Tresemme Naturals as well but only as a rinse out.
