BUT I have a whole lot of Giovanni products left in a huge storage bin and they really work nicely in my hair...totally forgot about them. I think I found my new staples!

Thank GOODNESS for you ladies that hang out in the 4a thread.. ohhhhhhh thank you!

Big Chop: 11/25/09
Cottony/fluffy, medium/coarse, high density & porosity
SL - APL - BSB - BSL - MBL - WL - HL
My favorite leave-ins:

Aubrey Organic Honeysuckle Rose conditioner
Trader Joe's Nourish & Spa
Jessicurl Weekly Deep Treatment

I love AOHSR and Jessicurl WDT because they are rich and leaves my hair feeling moisturized for days. TJ's Nourish & Spa I like because it's cheap, has natural ingredients and conditions pretty well.
Hair Type: 4a with 3c sections...frizzy,wavy,bushy,curly

I've been using KBN Shea Aloe Creamy Conditioner as a leave in and my hair is in love. It is much more moisturizing than the Shea Aloe Leave-In. Definitely moving up on my HG list.

Hey girl! I have kind of a mix between 3b and 3c hair. It's REALLY bushy if I don't put anything in it and it changes type depending on how much product I use to make the curls "hang." It still shrinks quite a bit, but the curls don't get so HUGE. I use Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine fortifying conditioner as my leave in. I had read how a bunch of curly girls got good results with the actual Leave-in, but when I compared the ingredients lists of the conditioner and the leave in, I found that they were almost identical. Then when I actually used both products, I realized they were VERY similar in scent, consistency and color. I get more moisture from using the conditioner too, which makes sense because one of the ingredients in the leave in that is NOT included in the conditioner is chlorhexidine dihydrochloride which is a very harmful salt. I found that out from Teri LaFlesh's ingredients dictionary on her website: tightlycurly.com.

So yeah, all I do when I'm done in the shower is pile on the conditioner, then seal it all in with apricot oil. It gets rid of any crunch that would form from using so much conditioner, and I LOVE the fruity, playful scent. People always tell me how good my hair smells, like it's freshly showered. And it feels so clean and soft!

Shampoo (once every 2 weeks): Herbal essences long term relationship
Co-Wash: Suave naturals (the shea moisture one)
Rinse out: Tresemme smooth and silky, Aussie Moist
Leave in: Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine fortifying conditioner
Deep conditioning (once a week): olive oil, an egg and some honey... maybe an avocado. Left in for about an hour.
Oil (sealing): apricot or sweet almond
hmmmm. Im looking to stock up on things for fall/winter, I may go ahead and pay for the CJ products. They sound excellent! I love hair dew but during colder months its not as moisturizing.
Oyin Hair Dew hands down. Now what's this you say about CJ Smoothing Lotion…?
Just a Lurker...
Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Curl Junkie Argan & Olive Daily
QB CTDG
DB Curl Smoothing Cream on dry hair

When the CJ Smoothing Lotion works for me, it works very well. But there is a very small window where it works. In the summer, my hair is frizzy and soft. In the winter, frizzy and dry. It is was too unpredictable to keep in the stash. I didn't want to turn into a meteorologist for just one product.
I would LOVE to try CJ and Oyin stuff but I just can't afford it. I might go ahead and splurge though for some winter products if I can find some coupons though...

I'm not obsessed: I just LOVE my hair!!

Shea Moisture Curl Smoothie - I like to mix it with a little bit of Kinky-Curly Custard, but because I have so much hair, I have to use a lot and it gets expensive, so I only do that on Sundays.

The rest of the week, I use Tresemme Naturals, which I mix with a little Biotera Gel. Way cheaper!

I would recommend TRESemme Naturals.

wow first use. i used it on my hair and the extension i have it. i left it in my hair and omg it is so smooth and soft and tangle free. I love it. smells great too. i love natural products. Great job.
Giovanni direct leave-in is the best thing going for me right now. I still use and really like the CJAOO conditioner but I won't repurchase this since, I prefer the Giovanni Direct and tresemme naturals.
My hair: thick, medium/coarse, high porosity in the crown naturally, normal porosity everywhere else.

Currently using...
Poo: Any sulfate free or low sulfate poo
Rinse out: Tresemme Naturals
Leave-in: Camille Rose Moisture Milk
DC: Eden Bodyworks Coconut Shea DC
Stylers: Xtreme Wetline gel
Oils: EVCO
Moisturizer: Oyin Hair Dew/watered down CR Moisture Milk
Sealant: Oyin pomades or JC Nourish and Shine
I would recommend TRESemme Naturals.
