Whats your best leave in Conditioner?

Like Tree60Likes

I hate white hair, so I use Long Aid Activator as my leave in. It's water based, clear and gives crazy moisture. I was getting too sticky, but I was using too much. Now I use just enough to "feel" it in my hair, but not enough for curl definition. Then add my styling gel. My hair is defined, moisturized for DAYS, and no white.

BlackAngelPlay, if u like long aid activator, you may love Hawaiian Silky Curl Activator. It is the very best curl
enhancer for me and u don't need a leavein. Curls pop up magically and yet they remain soft. Try it.
I might! But I don't use leave in now! I think activator is just awesome in general!!

I will be trying Hawaiian Silky.

My very small cache of products is in my signature, but I'll explain why I like them.

Tresemme Naturals Moisture is good, cheap, silicone-free, paraben-free (I think), poly-quat-free, and protein-free, for when I accidentally overdo the protein (possible even on my hair). Not quite heavy enough for winter, but a good combing condish. Also, doesn't have a very strong smell and is easy to mix with olive oil for slightly more weight & slip, if needed. Also, almost allergen-free, unless your allergy is avocado or you react badly to the fragrance used.

Olivella condish is oil-heavy and protein-rich, silicone-free, paraben-free, & poly-quat-free, with a light, unnoticeable scent (I think). So far this is my holy-grail conditioner. I spent 6 months trying to find a salon that carried the liter (33.5 oz) bottle before they started offering it online. Because it's 4x as expensive as the Tresemme for the same size bottle (6x if you include shipping), I try to only use it as a leave-in. One caviat: This contains wheat, so wheat-sensitive people should not try it.

Edit: I realize that this forum is not for my curl-type, but since I tend to use heavier leave-ins, I hope it was still helpful.
  • 2b/2c, medium thickness, high density, medium porosity, protein-loving, mid-back length hair
  • Olivella Professional Conditioner & Tresemme Naturals Moisture Conditioner: co-wash / leave-in
  • Smooth 'n Shine Curl Activator Gel & Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel: styling products
  • olive oil, coconut oil, & castor oil: occasional hair / scalp treatments
  • Aveeno Skin Relief Fragrance Free Body Wash: occasional 'cone-free, fragrance free 'poo
