I was also tempted but decided against it because coconut is iffy in my hair. But remember Muffin is still early in her transition so that could be a factor.

Hit: As I Am Twist Defining Cream - wasn't sure about the texture (kinda like jelly), but used it over KCKT for two strand twists last Saturday and my hair is very defined, has good shine and still very moisturized!!!

Can I ask what styles you normally wear? As much as I love finger detangling, I couldn't imagine doing twists or flat twists without giving each section a final swipe of the Denman to smooth all the strands.

I wear twist and braid-outs mostly and I finger detangle....i can't say the last time I used a comb or the MP detangler. I smooth as I braid or twist and once at the the ends I keep twisting the hair around my finger until totally smooth and is one uniform curl that stays. Works every time BUT recently ive' been following up with a castor oil or a thick pomade which helps keeps them smooth during the take down not to mention cuts down on fairy knots.

I wear twists the majority of the time. I do out styles occasionally.

I tend to work in small sections since my hair is thick and tightly coiled so I get through it pretty thoroughly.

I regularly wear braid-outs and buns (done on braid-out hair). On occasion, I wear two-strand twisted Bantu knot outs. I wash in twisted sections though...I feel like that helps with the styling process.

Gotta give emm a "TRY"... I saw mstanish's vid , I went out for em. Glad I did. Doesn't snag my hair, put em in carefully of course. No moe scrunchies bubbles for me...can put it as loose or as fitting as u like. "I'm Hooked" lol

Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Frizz Defeat Deep Treatment.

Neutral: Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Holding Mist- decent refresher but doesn't wow me

Miss: Alas my passion about natural hair and this site is waning

Hey Muffin, I didnt like this on its own, but it was a hit when I used it in my kimmaytube leave in recipe. Also a fair hit when used a little on each section when doing a dry bantu knot out.

Hits: Henna
Scarves as headbands/hair accessories
As I Am Coconut Cowash
Taliah Waajid curly cream

cute me some slack on the following, Im new at transitioning lol! But I love these introductions into my regimen: coconut oil (as a prepoo, as a sealer, added to conditioner...pretty much any kind of way!), kimmaytube leave in (I have been struggling with dryness and I think this may be a key to helping), ACV rinses have cured my dry/itchy/flaky scalp and seem to be helping with porosity.

Misses:
-Hawaiian silky 14 in 1...I wanted to love it so much...but it doesnt moisturize my hair and makes it hard.
-Giovanni direct leave in--same as above
-Giovanni smooth as silk poo--no slip...but Im spoiled by CON

Hit: adding salt to Claude Michel great hair conditioner. It has certainly made it feel more moisturizing. Thanks for the tip

Preliminary Hit:

Claudie's Montego Bay Oil

I ordered this awhile back and it was nice BUT it would take my hair all nite to soak it all in so I began using it before I do wng's.

I ordered again and was graciously alerted (by a fellow pj) to a change in the oils...I've been using this newer version for a few days after I refresh and my hair is soaking it up....no buildup gunky feeling. The oils have a silky/satiny feeling but don't leave a greasy feel or look. Best of all...no coconut oil!

Very nice blend!

Another Preliminary Hit:

Butters N Bars Organic Amla Spritzer

I'm generally not a fan of spritzers...they seem to leave a gunky feeling on my hair and they generally just don't fit into my routine but this is a winner so far. Soaks in nicely leaving my hair nice and soft.

...tell PETA my mink is dragging on the floor...

Hit
Bask Beauty Cupuaçu Coco-Nilla Body Massage Serum. This stuff smells amazing and is just a great body oil. I've been using it for a few weeks now. It also compliments the Viktor and Rolf flowerbomb fragrance for me.

In winter, Mozeke's Whipped Avocado cream was a no-go. I had completely forgotten how good it was as a sealer for my ends until I tried it again last week. Moisturized ends for days. Days!

SUPAH Hit:
QB Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee

Don't know how I slept on this one...this stuff literally "melts" tangled/knotty ends. Looks like QB will back in the rotation.

Tresemme Naturals Conditioner (for cowashes)
Shea Moisture Curling Smoothie (very moisturizing without the greasy feel)

Hit:

Maintain a Braid n' Curl / Twist-out / Braid-out - YouTube
--This method is awesome for preserving my braid-outs. It works much better than my previous method of slapping on a satin bonnet. My hair doesn't get squished at all (vs. being squished a little bit). In the morning, I just shake-and-go. Perfect!
