Doing the Big Chop...
Next week ladies on my seven month anniversary. I'm really excited! Any tips before? I should definitely cut it wet as opposed to dry to see the line of demarcation better right? Thanks in advance, the transition was definitely a journey!

Are you cutting it yourself? If so then yes, cut it damp....not soaking wet. Also, make sure you use a good pair of shears made specificly for hair that are nice and sharp.
My only suggestion would be to get it cut in a good shape that grows out easy and flatters your face. I think a lot of people just take off the straight ends and then are frustrated that thier hair doesn't look nice after the BC and I think a LOT of that frustration can be fixed with a good haircut (shape wise) from the very beginning. Also I think when you have an awesome hair cut, you are less likely to drive yourself crazy waiting on your hair to grow out so it will look "cute" because it's already cute.
Good Luck!

Thank you for your suggestion. I hadn't thought much about a shape besides the fact that I want it to be even . I doing it myself, but I am planning on going to get it shaped up the following week. You think a barber would be best?

My suggestion is to get it shaped up right away or go to a stylist and let them cut and shape it up. Barbers can give you a good shape up depending on your length. Just ask him or her to cut you with scissors and not the clippers and PLEASE don't let them edge up the front of your hair (looks too masculine).
Just ask them to leave more/most of the length in the top/front and taper the back/sides. Think a Hallie Berry type short pixie cut but with natural hair. It will grow out easier and naturally fall into a sort of inverted bob.

Thanks for all of the support ladies, my big chop went SO WELL! I ended up just going to a hair dresser so she could do everything correctly. I love my hair so much! I believe I am a 4a so I will continue to post my hair questions and pictures here!
I love how easy it is to just slap conditioner on wet hair and go. And jojoba oil has been my best friend these past two weeks! Simplicity is best for me.
