August Hits and Misses
Let's get to it...
Hit - Bask Cocoa Nibs & Banana Body Scrub Sorbet
All of her scrubs are great (I am in total love with the Apricot Colada)...I cracked this baby open and yum. I love how all of her scrubs are actual scrubs but they melt into an oil leaving my skin like butta. No lotion needed.
Only miss is the cocoa nibs don't melt very fast sooo looks like little turds or a bug on the shower floor but they soon melted and I was back in heaven.

I got a sample of the apricot colada oil in my last order. Uh, it smells so good! And you say you don't need lotion after using the body scrubs? Might need to put that on my list for next time.

Hit: Shea butter for twists. My hair is too thin to seal with shea butter when doing a wng, but it gives my twists some good weight and i can see my length now. Can't wait to see how my twistout looks in a few days.

MISS: Garnier Fructis survivor touch it out glue...
I know I was going out on a whim getting something with the name " glue " in it but I was struggling with something to give some good hold and experimenting with alternatives of gel ( the PJ in me )
MANNN this stuff is just an epic fail... I could try more combinations with it but it has all the cons of proper holding and all the best traits of actual glue... it dries clear but damn it if it isnt the worst tacky-ness EVER...

My box braids came out so easy last night , my hair is still LUSH and plush after taking them down. My hair feels so good I dont want to wash and style

Miss: Curls Cashmere Curls Leave in - My hair was a dry desert, like I had stripped it with shampoo and called it a day. No go.
Meh: Suave Humectant Conditioner - nice slip for detangling, but my hair did not feel conditioned. I let it dry after rinsing to check and still no softness. I did not even know that was possible with a conditioner with cones. I was really surprised because usually my hair loves conditioners with lactic acid...the take away, sodium lactate and lactic acid will not behave similarly...
ETA: I really need to brush up on my chemistry...I am truly slippin...

I got a few samples of cashmere curls jelly and I thought it was so so. I gave the rest away. But then my hair really doesnt care for anything but a good creamy leave in conditioner on wash days and leave in spray on the other days.

It was the leave-in conditioner. I was really surprised because it has glycerin (seasonally appropriate) and protein (which my hair loves)... I guess I am a creamy leave-in girl as well...

MISS: Washing my yarn braids at night - didn't want my pillow wet, so wrapped the tail bit of my ponytail in a t-shirt as I slept. Hair smelt faintly mildewy when I got up, but luckily the smell has faded.

I'm experimenting with all of the products that I hated to see if combining them or changing the amount will make it work. Fresh off the heels of my CJ CCCC miracle I decided to retry CIAB. I bought all my CJ products last year with those awsome coupons that they had. Many folks use this as a finisher over a strong styler, but I've found that my hair needs very little styler as I found with CCCC. I wet my hair till damp, added my leave in, and went over with about a 2 nickel sized amounts of CCCC. I added 2 quarter sized amounts of CIAB and let it be. My hair was da BOMB.
My hair shrinks at a little longer than ear length but with this I had hang. Like almost shoulder length hang and volume. It had hold and was soft and moveable. The only downside was that it didn't stay moisturized the next day. I'm greedy for moisture. I can see myself keeping this products for a long time since I need so little so they are definitely worth the price.

Hit: Original Moxie Lux and Locs with a dab of Eco styler crystal gel. I finally had a successful twist out.
Miss: Still looking for a moisturizer that will refresh my curls in a wash and go and a twist out.
