How many of my 4b ladies have tried mini twists as a protective style? This winter, starting this month I will be wearing mini twists until December. I'd like to gain a good 2 inches in length by the time I hit 2 1/2 yrs natural! How will you be wearing your hair this fall/winter?

I'm wearing mini twists now (almost a month). I think it has been a great way to get through this humid summer in NC. I wore it down primarily but have tried different updos for the last two weeks. The key to maintaining twists to me seems to depend on how you keep your hair moisturized and how you wrap it at night. I use my Juice and Berries oyin handmade spray right before wrapping my twists like a doobie with booby pins.

I love mini twists. I just hate how long it takes to put them in. I'll probably wait until my twists are long enough to bun before I do mini twists again

I also have done mini twists twice. I definitely liked the results, but I noticed there is a lot of frizz if I keep the twist in for a week. I do not retwist at night. I wear them for a week and then I remove and wear it twisted out.

Tonight I did chunky twist about 15 and will unravel Monday!!

I like mini twists b/c i can do them and forget about my hair for 1 week. Yes i said 1 week by week 2 they start to look like dreads and detangling is a pain. if there is any advice about how to preserve them longer please let me know. im pretty sure its my hair though.

i wear mine in high bun. but now that its cold i really miss PS wearing my hair up makes me freeze. My ears and face are exposed..its all bad.

Have you tried mini-braids? I find they last longer and don't tangle up as much as twists. However, I like the look of twists more and I find twists easier to moisturise through spritzing than braids (too much 'hidden' hair in braids, so unless I soak them...). Braids can also withstand washing (I keep my mini- styles in for a month).

I will either do mini-somethings or yarn braids this winter.

I currently have mini twists installed and I love them! Very versatile and I retain length very well.

i can wear mine for a month you just wrap them at night like you would if you had a relaxer and make sure they stay moisturized

this is very nice.
I have been doing alot of low maintaince styles along with mini twist. To be honest i dont care to much for mini twist, they take forever to do and within one week there out. My nape is super fine and loosely curled and the twists there unravel on their own after a week also i dont like how there is little you can do with them..as far as styling goes.i use to be a fan back when i had time to do the itty bitty ones but i just don't have that kind of time. Im thinking about doing box braids like janet jackson in poetic justice except i little smaller.
