For those who use Qhemet Biologics

I see they put the Honeybush Tea Gel and the OHHB in bottles with pumps now. I make a mess and waste product whenever I use OHHB.

All I want to try is the Aethiopika Twisting Butter, Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee, and Moringa Tree Conditioning Ghee....and maybe the gel so I can scratched them off my list. I feel like I'm missing out on those products.
Has anyone noticed a change in the CTDG?

I followed her directions because I LOVED CTDG and the way it worked for my hair and I just wanted everything to go back to being the same. I purchased more of her products to use in conjunction with the CTDG and that did not help. AT ALL! I ended up selling them on the exchange forum.

I purchased another bottle of the CTDG and used that bottle on one side of my hair and used that bottle that wasn't performing very well on the other side of my hair and there was a NOTICEABLE difference.

I messaged Napata/Qhemet on on LHCF explaining my experience and she never responded. Granted I could have e-mailed her via her website, but I know she is an active member on LHCF. Also, in the last year (previous to this) she has initiated messaging me on LHCF about a photo I posted using her products and wanting to know how I achieved the style so I know she checks the private messages.

@CocoT I definitely agree with your observations. Apparently there is seems to be some inconsistency in the product now.

I'm extremely disapointed on the way this matter was handled. EXTREMELY. Ignoring someone is never good.

Westndnbeauty & Coco, y'all are making me reconsider the CTDG. I've never tried a full jar but before my local store that sold QB closed (way before the change) I remember sampling some and it did seem pretty thick to try to put in a pump.

So I decided to e-mail through Qhemet's website.

Here is what my message said:

Hi
I've messaged you on June 23 about my experience with the newly bottled CTDG through LHCF and I received no response. Just today I came across a thread on Naturally Curly where someone seems to be having the same experience as myself with the CTDG not working they way it previously did.

Has there been a change in the product?

In June I literally did a side-by-side with CTDG from one batch (purchased in March) and CTDG from another batch (purchased in June). Each product was on either side of my hair and they both performed differently. That was my confirmation.

Here is the response:
Hi West!

Sorry for the oversight and thanks for resending the question. I'm glad you got the results you were looking for from the bottle you purchased in June. We haven't changed the formula but slight differences may occur from batch to batch.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Kind Regards,

QB

There you have it folks! Do with that information what you wish.
Hmmmm, batch to batch differences?!? What she mean...that is not cool right there. I have not noticed any differences with the items I've ordered over the years.

I'm seriously wanting to try the gel in bottle but its not a major want.

im going to be butt mad. On the real shes had consistency changes in her products but they have worked regardless for me. Even my CTDG in some of my jars were different but they worked the same.

I havent bought a bottle yet cause if its different Im going to be upset. :/
This is posted under FAQs on the website:

Q: Why is this product slightly thinner/thicker than the last one I received?

A: QB products are made fresh using natural oils, butters and emulsifiers so slight differences in texture from batch to batch may occur. This will not affect performance. A thinner batch will thicken over time as is the nature of certain emulsion systems.

thats been there for years Juana which is why im not really worrying about the texture consistency because over the years it has changed with all her products ive ordered.

im worried about the way the ctdg will now perform being that much thinner to pump out a bottle
I think some may be missing the point. Yes the texture is different but PERFORMANCE has also been varied as well.

I've used this one specific product for a couple years religiously each wash day and have experienced different textures and SCENTS with the product still doing what I know it to do.

What I'm discussing now has nothing to do with texture or scent but PERFORMANCE. That is all I care about.

When my hair is still dry as a desert after using CTDG when it is normally nice and supple, that is a problem.

Hopefully you all will get where I'm coming from.

EDIT: ok I saw where you emailed through the website. Does this product contain cetyl alcohol? If she reduced the amount of cetyl alcohol so that it may pump through a bottle this could/would effect thickness and conditioning/moisture performance. Cetyl alcohol makes a huge diff in moisture from my experience and even 1% less can be noticeable.

I don't use the CTDG, but I can understand the concern. I would feel the same if the BRBC were to change in performance.

WNB, not making excuses, but I wondering of this has come about because she is trying to get into mass production. Perhaps you should point out to her that more than just you are having problems with performance. Better that is caught now and remedied, than to lose long time customers.

If she's gonna say the formula isn't changed even the slightest bit I find that hard to believe. But whatever.lol I know I'm sane and it's not the end of the world. I wish it worked the same for me but it just doesn't. I could have kept my complaints to myself but I always keep it 100 about my experiences. I would want others to do the same. Plus, I'm not a paid endorser or have any personal ties to the company so me holding back serves me no purpose. I have paid for every jar and bottle of Qhemet I have ever used and i will continue to do so, with respect to the circumstances of my coins. I still love the products, and I still like the CTDG. It's just that "little goes a long way" mantra doesn't really apply to me anymore.lol

Oh and to further my point, I know natural ingredients vary and climate can alter the look of a product. Those things don't always affect the performance of a product. case in point: last summer or the summer before I placed a huge order. I ordered like 5 or 6 jars of AOHC. All of them were watery, not the solid butter cream consistency they usually are. But despite that, the product still worked the same. I was perfectly fine with them.

It turned out that it wasn't the heat that made the product that way, she used a different mixing technique. So I ain't trying to hear all that talk about variation and blah blah stuff. I know.

Also, I do think she had already achieved mass production. If you look at Sage's website, they have huge volumes of her products. Just the other day they had 61 CTDG and right now they have 45 AOHC. I've never seen numbers above 25 of any one QB product since she has been working with Sage.

Also Sage is talking about having a sale in the near future. This will be the first sale since black friday/carrying QB products.

@CocoT Thanks for your co-sign chica!
WND, sorry, I missed that part of your email. Hopefully she will take heed and issue will be resolved.
