I use a fine toothed comb, or for some.. the fact that I use combs in general. But I need and love them.
I also brush wet hair, sue me.
I think those are the only rebellious things i do though!

i don't consciously follow or break that many rules, but... i wash my hair like the white girls in the shampoo commercials *GASP*
most naturals would be clutching their pearls if the saw me wash and detangle my hair.

That's the thing all my daily products have protein in the 1st 5-6 ingredients but my hair is still easily over moisturized and I don't know why

Idk if this is breaking any rules but I've been on a 2mth no-wash streak and my hair still looks good, doesn't smell, isn't dry, and is soft.
I don't use shampoo and conditioner, but only deep conditioner(saves a lot of money lol).
Sometimes my buns are too tight.

I don't really deep condition. I also pull my ponytails and buns a little tight sometimes. I scratch my scalp when washing (can't help it--feels soooooooo good).

I'm not too bad. It's my undying love for shampoo. Sometimes I feel lazy and skip wash days and don't moisturize my hair.
Besides this I'm pretty good.

Sulfates for me... I tried the whole sulfate free routine and my scalp paid the price. My scalp is just way too oily. If I don't wash it for a few days it literally feels like I lathered chunks of my hair with Blue Magic. So I've gotten into the routine of washing twice a week instead of once. Also, surprisingly using neutralizing shampoos has really cut down on the roughness and porosity problems after "normal" shampoos. I'm guessing it has to do with the lower pH.
I say whatever works for you, go for it!

Don't sleep with my hair covered, or on something silky. Highlighted my own hair. Comb from root to tip. Sometimes when I can't find a comb I part with a pen or a mechanical pencil. Sulfate poos. Scratch my scalp a lot.
Not a rule for many, but I don't protective style, I get bored to quick. Um, that's all I can think of

Oh, I forgot I do that too! I don't wash in sections. I wet, shampoo and massage scalp. Rinse apply conditioner, detangle in sections, twist, (deep condition), rinse.
Yes, many here would be running scared...lol

I have gotten the "I am not amused" look from a few naturals for these:
Not washing my hair in sections. I comb/brush from root to tip plenty of times.
Not using major natural hair product lines (Miss Jessie's, Carol's Daughter, etc). Some people have taken this personally.
Not trying to "define my curl pattern" or "make my curls pop." I don't care if my hair looks like a fuzzy cottonball one day and some waves/curls the next. I am not sitting up "shingling" with curly puddings all day for nobody.

Most of them-I rarely deep condition, my hair has been almost every color of the rainbow (no blue or green), I don't wash my hair in sections OR in twists, I only put my hair in twists to take them out again, I use sulfate shampoos, e list goes on and on.

I don't co-wash, my scalp hates it. When I do shampoo, which is once a week, I scratch my scalp and I do NOT section my hair when I shampoo. I oil my scalp with Doo Grow anti-itch oil and Coconut oil and my hair and scalp love them both. I comb and brush my hair. I don't protective style often.
