September Hits & Misses
I didn't see one, and I like to fit in :P So let's get started.
Hit: Nubian Heritage EVOO And Moringa Hair Butter. Rullll good. A great sealer and excellent added moisturizer. Emulsifies like crazyyyy.
Miss: deep treatment from the same line. Maybe my hair was too wet when I put it on, but even added heat left my hair sticky and hard.

Hit: L'Oreal EverCream shampoo. (Gold tube.) My hair was so soft I thought it was MELTING!!!! And it has this sweet coconut/cream scent.
Hit: TRESemme Naturals. The nourishing moisture one. Love it! Detangling was a breeze. Together the L'Oreal and this was just wonderful together.
On the fence: Cantu Shea Butter Coconut Curling Creme. My head is kinda itchy. Shea is not really my friend, but I had to try. The product is ok, but I see why some who used it said it left them dry and greasy. My hair is a little... Crispy feeling. I'll use it, but not sure if I'll buy it again.
On the fence: Sof n Free Milk Protein & Olive Oil Strengthening Cream. I used a little under the curling cream and it's ok. Not sure if I'll repurchase yet. Together the CCC and this gave me nice curls, but once dry it was a bit greasy and hard. I'll try different amounts and methods and see if it gets better or worse.
No out right fails yet.

On the fence: Qhemet Burdock Root Butter Cream. Since the change (jar/ingredients order), my hair feels a lot drier. I am giving it another chance. I ordered another jar but looking around for a good substitute.

Oh I LOOOOVE the l'oreal shampoo. I accidentally grabbed the intense moisture one (gold and white bottle) that has a cone though, but when I use that up I'll definitely get the gold bottle.

Hit: Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo (*pauses for air*) made my hair feel reallll good... I don't LOVE it (the fragrance is too fragrant-y), but I like it a ton, and...it's a re-purchase ! (I don't get to say that often!)

Hits: As I Am Coconut Cowash...the slip was amazing and my hair didn't feel rough after rinsing it out.
SheaMoisture Styling Milk mixed SheaMoisture Souffle made my braid out beautiful. No greasy feeling on my hair and you couldn't tell that I had any product in my hair.
Miss: Loreal Cowash...there was very little slip and the fragrance was a little too strong for my husband since it flared up his asthma.

Hit: Yes To Blueberries Conditioner
Nice, creamy and moisturizing enough to use after a shampoo. But not so thick you couldnt also cowash with it.. good slip to detangle and leaves the hair soft without leaving a residue. Feels like it would make a nice leave in gotta try it that way next..
Loreal Ever Creme Shampoo: I see im not the only person who tried this, bought it to use when I straightened.. good stuff. I got ready to straighten, added too much product and my hair was tacky so I had to go wash again, even though I shampooed earlier that day it still didnt strip my hair.
FINALLY got a haircut, she super layered it.. curious to see how it looks curly. Hope she cut off enough of the colored ends for them to curl on their own like the rest of my head.

After I use that henna I have to dc right after and cowash for two straight days after to get my moisture level back right. I like the color for that one.

Jamila henna gave me the frizziest hair. I noticed some loosening and the bright red dye was just a bit too much over for me over time.
The Rajasthani mixed with some cheap conditioner gave me the best color and soft hair. Too bad I'm lazy or I would start using henna again.
...i'm supersonic

Thank you both! :-) I'm still suffering though, I mixed the henna with coconut oil olive oil coconut milk and tresemme naturals conditioner ... After that I DC-ed with KBB luscious locks hair mask and then co washes and oil rinsed and still frizz city ... The color pay off is good and my hair feels strong but I mean I've neverrrr experienced such frizz. Right now I have it pulled back in a low loose bun with one of those donut things...
Anything else you all have tried or should I just wait it out? maybe steaming?
In other news : big hit this Shea moisture BOGO sale (I needed consoling) :-)

Hmmm. My hair doesn't like strong protein. Henna acts like a protein treatment. And Coconut milk treatments make my hair feel like pure straw. It took my hair weeks of dcing to recover the three times I tried coconut milk before I hung it up. If I mixed the two and added coconut oil I would be singing the protein overload blues. I suggest you cowash every day with something that doesn't have protein. That is the only way my hair bounces back.

Hit: Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat Clarifying Shampoo. Cleanses my hair without drying it out, while making my scalp feel heavenly.
Misses: none to report so far

Hit: Changing the order of my products gave me 4 days of moisturized hair! I cowashed on Monday, used Tresemme Naturals Moisturizing Conditioner as a leave-in, Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter as a moisturizer and sealed with my avocado, Grapeseed and camellia oil mix then put my hair in a high ponytail and air-dried. Then each morning, all I needed to do was slightly re-wet it in the shower and seal with more of my oil mix. This is the first time my hair has stayed moisturized for this long. Today I followed the same routine for my wash n go to see if I get the same results.
Miss: I had a lot of tangles and shed hair today, but I can deal with that.

Hit:
Herb N Life Headsprung as a refresher for my WNG.
Huge Big Fat Miss:
Natural vibes customer service. They sent me 1 bottle instead of the 2 that I ordered, and I had to file a claim with paypal to get my money back. I got no response from them until I escalated my dispute to a claim.
