Product assistance please....

My normal routine is a wash and go with suave and ecostyler gel. However, that always leaves my hair with the "wet look", not to mention the crunchy gel hair. It doesn't help that my hair is super thick, and i'm heavy handed.
I would like a styler that doesn't leave my hair with the wet look and no crunchies but still defines my curls a bit. It doesn't have to eliminate frizz(I really don't care too much about that-plus my hair really isn't that frizzy). I'm also very heavy handed so I am prone to "white stuff/cottage cheese, so if it's so mething that doesn't cause that would be great. It also must work with gel, in case i decide to use it under the gel sometimes.

Thanks
