This is what ideal with...

I finally got some great pics of my daughters hair. The nape has formed curls, the area above that is more like a z with no defined curls. The front, a combination of defined curls but more undefined ones.

How do i use gels or product to have a uniformed curly look? It seems to me that if i dont do twistous, there is no way to get the area above the nape to get a curl shape at all.

My daughter has low porosity, coarse hair. I think she is a 4b and 4c. In summer it shrinks a lot. In dry summer days, curls relax a bit.

The pics show how the hair from the back dries. Nape= defined shiny curls. Other area= fluffy no defined curls. You would wanna put gel in when her hair is wet. Not sopping wet and not damp. Make sure you do it in sections

Her hair may not get defined all over. To get a uniform look you might have to keep twist-outs and braid-outs in her hair routine.

Do you use heat a lot on her hair?
Thanks guys.

I never use heat on her hair. But i read that low porosity hair needs heat to open up the cuticles so oils can get in. So this last year i have done deep teeatment twice by putting a plastic bag then a heat cap for 30 mins.
Very pretty hair. I dont know how on she is but you can also set on flexirods.
I think you should try Terri LaFlesh's tightly curly method.
