I don't blame you. I don't care how good a product supposed to be, hair in products is negligent and its not worth the risk. It's plenty of other "good" products out here.
That's right GB! This hair journey is too long to be someone's guinea pig for unsafe products.
Agreed. If other hair product lines had pulled this everyone would be up in arms and it would be called a "gate". Also, what are the chances that TWO people from the same board had this issue? That means that there are other people who may have experienced this too. The woman removed the comment. That's very telling. Hell Afroveda doesn't even remove her bad comments. What excuse is there for her to have removed the FB complaint? None. She's "sincerely sorry" this time because she's watching this topic and trying to do damage control. Two people on NC had hair in their order.....of course shes going to "genuinely be sorry". The fact that she removed the comment and accused you of not telling the truth is evident she's not too "sorry". Her excuse is not even a valid one. If you have assistants handleing products with loose hair....YOU as the business owner clearly are not making sure your facility/kitchen/envionment in which you prepare/package products is clean. Period. What boss (granted she's even telling the truth about her "assistants") throws their employees under the bus to a customer? Fail number 3. You as the customer should not have even known anything about that. She should have just immediately apologized and fixed it. Her responding on here to claim you weren't telling the truth is also a fail. People lie..pics dont. You did her a service by not reporting her to the FDA or the BBB. She needs to take a bite of humble pie. Forreal. A person who doesn't see the value in putting a baseball cap on to prevent their hair from getting in some oil...is probably the same person that doesn't value sanitizing their area. You have to see through the smoke with some of these businesses...and the whole "da assistants did it!!!11" story is getting old. Cream & Coco and Soultanicals must have the same assistants...smh. I think you should report her. I'm just being real. Not because of the hair THAT is not even (imo) the heavy issue here...it's the way she tried to cover it up... because she CLEARLY had no intention of acknowledging or rectifying this issue prior to you calling her out. There is a difference between being sorry for stealing the cookie and being sorry you got caught.

I hate to see the type of customer service someone who is NOT a part of a hair care board would have received if this had happened to them.

That last part is so compelling! In fact everything you said summed up every issue period. If it wasn't for hair care boards there would be no natural hair care. They don't advertise. All their sales are because of word of mouth

but,

I will say, since then she has reached out to me, offered a replacememt product, and guaranteed me that she's making the necessary changes and is implementing quality control standards for her assistants throughout the product making process. But.... Loveme has made the most excellent points.

I havent , do you test all your hair products? I wonder if my local health food store has strips...
I usually test them out if I can't find the ph online. Kimmaytube has gotten me hooked on ph!

I really want to try this afro elastic dc, though :/
Welp, yeah I've tried the Afro Elastic DC on wet hair after shampooing under a heated hood dryer and surprisingly it was just blah for me...not the amount of slip I was expecting. Won't give up just yet though...gonna try it as a Pre-poo on dry hair...will see!

Yup, I wasn't impressed with the Afrotastic Curl Elastic either (and used it under a steamer each time). It's the only Soultanicals product that I can go without (that I've tried so far anyway). I've finished my bottle now, so I gave it a fair go. The only time I liked the results was when it was mixed with other conditioners and/or honey and olive oil. Also it is WAY too thick to be in a bottle!

They updated their order policy to say that all orders are shipping in two to three weeks. I am assuming excluding the holidays and weekends.

Never expect to receive your items quickly from a small company during the holidays....it's just the nature of the beast. They should have put this information on the front page of their site.

Yes I saw that. But checking their FB page earlier today I saw that people who ordered even well before that were still waiting on their orders. I'll wait to see if it gets shipped before the new year.

Sadly the knot sauce and hair sorrel kink drink was a complete disappointment! They both dried out my hair! The spray top stop working after one use, burned my scalp and it felt warm like the feeling you get if you use ACV. Knot sauce gave me nooo moisture none. I will never by full sizes again I am going to sample a lot now. Basically $30 down the drain. I am so mad what a waste.

Why don't you get rid of them on the swap board?
