Default V05 Strawberries and Cream Conditioner and BREAKAGE

Hey all!

So I have been using VO5 Strawberries and Cream conditioner for about a month now. It detangled and conditioned my hair really well in the beginning. The problem is over time, it is not working too well. My hair has been breaking more and I feel like the conditioner is leaving product build up which makes my hair harder. Has anyone else had this problem with this conditioner?I have been rinsing my hair with Apple Cider Vinegar once a week to get rid of the build up.

This helps, but I need a moisturizer.. especially since it is getting be very cold and dry up here. The problem is I have severe allergy issues so the moisturizer has to be Non-Natural (nothing to do with herbs, plants, trees, grass, etc)... Basically the more unnatural the product the better. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much for the help!

Are you protein sensitive? VO5 Strawberries and Cream has protein in it, I believe...
The VO5 Tea Therapy conditioner does not have protein in it and my hair loves it as a RO. I am protein sensitive BTW.

Thank you for the reply! I do believe I am protein sensitive... I would try the VO5 Tea Therepy but I am allergic to the Sage leaf extract since it is a leaf. Can you think of any other conditioners I could try? Thanks a ton!

Do you use the Blackberry Sage Tea Therapy V05 Conditioner? Could I use this as leave in conditioner as well as a moisturizing/detangling conditioner? Thank you

I've only used the VO5 Blackberry Sage Tea as a RO so I can't speak to using it as a LI conditioner.

I use Giovanni's 50:50 Balanced Hydrating Calming Conditioner with added oils and honey as a weekly DC and it really moisturizes my tresses. It has "organic/natural" ingredients though that you may be allergic to. Are you allergic to coconut? Coconut oil works really well as a prepoo for my hair too.
