I look forward to your review [/QUOTE]
So, this week I noticed my hair was definitely thicker, had more weight and was easier to manage. This is surprising to me because as yet I still have had only one application recently. Here is the funny part, its midweek, and I am STILL not experiencing frizz. That is very odd for my hair. I repeat VERY ODD. I want to reapply this week, but though my hair still feels soft I don't want to push it with back to back henna treatments. I'm a little concerned since the gloss I am using also has keratin that I will suffer from protein overload (my hair is funny about protein sometimes). I will push it to every two weeks. But yeah, I'm excited. I wore a bun all week and didn't even have to stop to redo it midweek. I kept getting compliments on my hair too. This is awesome progress for me. I will report back on my detangling process, that is the true test, whether I have decreased shedding. Though with the way my hair has been feeling I get the impression I wont have much shedding.

So happy for you and all the progress you're making
Care to post any pics? (If not, I get it. It's kind of a pain in the butt. Just thought I'd ask because I love gawking at healthy curls ).

Lovely! So thick, pretty color and great sheen ... On top of all that, it looks well moisturized and healthy
Thanks for sharing

Update: I think I've finally decided on a henna/amla mixture, based on strand tests I've done in the past 1.5 weeks. Will do henna the day after Xmas. I'm using Raj Twilight.
I'm aiming for some sort of warm red with burgundy tones mixed in. The henna might not even show on some of my darker areas, but the gray areas could make this ... interesting. Too much brassiness or too much burgundy could spell trouble since my skin tone is yellow and kind of olive. I'm not totally confident about pulling this off, but I'm feeling adventurous
I've created a new album called "Pre-henna" if you want to check out pics of how my hair is looking now, before I take the plunge - my layers are longer than in the other album. I'll add post-henna pics after hennaing too, even if the color is disastrous. If disastrous, I'll trouble-shoot to correct the color, then post those pics

I'm so excited! I cant wait to see how it turns out (I may be converted to doing an actual henna treatment). One more update: My detangling session was a breeze! Yep this is a winner, and its staying in my regimen.

My hair would probably take auburn or burgundy highlights because my hair is naturally black. Hmmm...that sounds pretty...

I've changed my mind again. I will try it every week. If I notice any undue hardness in my hair, I will stop.

hehehehehe! Have fun! I would love to see your results, your hair is beautiful!
Oh and bump is just a way to keep the thread alive. Ever time someone responds the thread moves higher and more people can respond. If you don't have anything to add but want to hear the opinions of others you bump so the thread doesn't get lost somewhere where no one will see it.

oooooh i see. Thanks for the explanation and compliment. I will be sure to update my results. I cant believe with all the benefits i am just now trying this!
I did extensive research last nite and read ALOT of reviews. I decided i couldn't wait for this to come in the mail so i found the nearest indian store (27 miles) and brought these. I plan to use it on my mom hair too so the more the merrier. She has sufferd from hair growth issues since she started taking her diabetes meds. We have tried everything and no luck. More than anything i want this to work for her sake. I can only imagine how bad she feels putting on a wig and not being able to wear her natural hair.
Will update

From the bottom of my heart I sincerely wish you the best of luck and hope to see your results. Deep condition with a moisturizing conditioner afterwards!

What kind of color result are you looking for ... or are you using it just to improve the health of your hair (and your mom's)? Sorry to hear your mom has been having it so rough.
ETA: Love, love love your fro!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I want the health benefits; fuller, thick hair and healthy scalp. I would love red highlights but thats not important.
My moms hair just doesn't grow. Is 100% natural and its thin and lifeless. growing up she always had fine silky long hair. Its so sad to see how it effects her.All this began when she started taking meds for her diabetes and high blood pressure, i believe hair loss is a side effect . For 1 year i have been seeking to find something that aid in getting life back into her hair but nothing seem to work. So were pretty much desperate. Thank you so much for your sympathy
BTW whats ETA? Thanks

Dee, hopefully the henna/amla will help you with all that. So many women say their hair DEFINITELY looked thicker and seemed stronger after henna, so it could work out well!
What, if anything, have your mom's doctor/s said might help her reduce her hair loss, or help reduce further hair loss (Sometimes certain drugs can be slightly reduced w/the help of a doctor, if it's truly a side effect of one of the drugs and not a cause of the diabetes itself)? I assume she's also watching her sugar levels, eating properly, exercising if possible and regularly taking her meds? Would imagine henna/amla might improve the health of her hair. Your mom is so lucky to have a daughter who's willing to fuss over her hair - man if only my husband would agree to assist me w/applying henna/amla mix ... I have a TON of hair to work with. I asked him. I was like : and he was like
