Hi,

the challenge sounds fun. I am going to finger detangle for the next six months to up my retention, and keep my thick hair. It is no heat for the rest of the year, and since I did no heat last year, that might become holy grail.

Now as to products, I am using a bunch of samples I got from different companies for stylers. Once I finish I am just going to make my own most of the time, and treat myself to an all natural product every once in a while. Do I qualify to join with using up my samples?

As of right now I'm going to wash my hair with a sulfate to cleanse my hair of silicones from the flat iron.

My regimen is as of right now,
Cleanse with acv (and a doctored poo if I really need it)
Deep condition treseme/aussie/headnshoulders mixed with other stuff
Seal with oils
Style with shea butter

I have been doing the same routine since the start of December 2012. Today I didn't want to touch my hair AT ALL. Its my birthday & I'm tired of the four hour wash day commitment already.

Edit: I did finish my hair by 9pm

Starting January1, 2013 please post your regimen info, starting length & any other info you want to share.

If you fall off the wagon, no worries. Just go for as long as you can.

If you notice your hair doing anything interesting feel free to share.

PLEASE NOTE: Your chosen regimen/routine should be good. If doing the same thing for a month or so causes breakage, please make changes. No challenge is worth hair loss y'all.

Good luck!
Starting length: collarbone length :T
Routine: buns buns buns ! Twisting at night and then put up in a bun for as long as it can last.

Products... uh, castor oil, olive oil, unsure about condish & dc, need to get a better one .

Good luck everyone !

I'd like to join. I struggle with consistency but the last two months have gone pretty well so I think I can see some good results if I stick with it.

I do a modified CG (combs and brushes are my friends) with mostly protective styling.

Products
poo - Palmer's Coconut Oil Conditioning Shampoo(2x/mo)
cowash - Suave Naturals Coconut or Daily Clarifying (2x/mo)
RO - Palmer's Olive Oil Replenshing Conditioner (3x/mo)
DC - Suave Naturals/homemade mayo blend (1x/mo)
LI - Suave Naturals/KC Spiral Spritz/oils concoction I make
Styling - Palmer's Coconut Oil Moisture Grow hairdress, Ecostyler-based whipped custard, whipped shea butter blend

My hair's currently just above shoulder length. I'm not overly concerned with length, just curious to see what happens.

Well I stuck with just terressentials mud shampoo, Shea butter, and UFDCM since August. Hmmmmm not impressed with the moisture levels in my hair per say. I think at the end of the day something creamy has to be in my life. So this is what I shall do:
I will be going back to the CG method for a bit. I haven't decided I a conditioner or a gel, yet. However it may end up being Tresseme Naturals and Eco styler olive oil gel(never tried the olive oil brand). The two conditioners I want to do a test run with are Deva Curl One conditioner I believe and Paul Mitchell's The Conditioner. If the ECOO doesn't work then I will go back. To the plain version or order more UFDCM. That stuff right there is still awesome.

I don't think I can keep up w/ this challenge. Due to severe knotting I had to drastically change my products (silicones have been reintroduced). Also, I really do like trying new things now and again.

Made it a month but I need to switch things up a bit.
Still cowash only once a week with TN or VO5.
Oil rinse with olive, grapeseed, & coconut oil mix, then condition with same TN or VO5.
Small twists with SM CES. Spritz ends nightly with water and TN mix & seal with castor oil.

That's another reason why I decided not to participate in this one....I like rotating products and changing routines a bit.

Is it too late to join? I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Botanical Spirits .My hair has been super dry and everything I put on it makes it worse. So my plan is:

month 1
Mud mask for 4 weeks
month 2
Alternate btwn mud mask and Curl tamer protein conditioner
month 3
Mud mask 1x a month. Alternate btwn protein conditioner and moisturizing conditioner.
Mid week co-wash. (have to find something as CJDF is not my friend for whatever reason)

No sls, No cones. By this time it should be spring and hopefully my hair will be ready for a hair cut and wash n gos.

Okay I would like to join!!! I'm super late but I've only been loose natural for 2 weeks now (took out my locs) and have very few products. I think this challenge will prevent me from being a product junkie but I have figured a regimen yet!! In also doing a protective style challenge now for 4 months so combining both challenges could be successful. This week I will post my regimen.
