Default Ladies, how often do you use protein conditioners?

I have a protein conditioner that I loved loved loved the results of, enough to want to try using it once a week. From what I understand finer hair types fare well with protein on a regular basis, but my hair is fine to medium. To give me some insight I wanted to know how often do you use protein?

Maybe once a month. I'm going to try using mine a lot more often though because I have overly porous hair.

My hair is actually low porosity and after I used the conditioner it was more resistant to absorption of product. But, what did absorb had my hair feeling so extremely lush it wasn't even funny. My hair was also so much more manageable.

My hair is protein sensitive. I do a stretch test every time I get it wet and use a protein conditioner as needed. I'd say it averages about every 1 1/2 - 2 weeks.

My hair:
2b wavy, medium texture, low porosity, med-high density. Protein finicky.
My routine:
Cleansing: DCNP, every 4-5 days (occasionally use CJ cleansers).
RO: CJSC, occasionally use JCDC
LI: KCKT or CJSL
Gel: KCCC, CJCIAB for 2nd day hair (sometimes third)

Heat is my friend: warm water rinses, steam caps, and diffuse dry. I love CLU cloths and my Denman.

I use mine I'd say every 3 weeks...I absolutely LOVE Deity America deep cond in the green tub...the consistency feels slimy going on, but leaves my hair soft and strong! Ha...🌟

Once a week when I DC, sometimes ill use that mill creek as a rinse out midweek if I cowash and use a regular moisturizing dc in that case on shampoo day.
Maybe try alternating every other week, moisture and protein.. if u feel u get an overload do every 2 weeks or so!

So far I have used the millcreek on each wash day for the past two weeks. So far so good. I will keep a close eye on things and monitor to see if there are any problems. I also oil rinse mid week then deep condition with a moisturizing conditioner. I feel that that will help keep my moisture and protein in balance. I used to believe my hair hated protein. I am learning that done properly, my hair loves the stuff!

My hair loves, loves, loves protein. I have fine strands, low porosity and my hair requires a healthy dose of protein often.

I also have really fine hair that prone to mid-strand splits so I use a protein conditioner weekly and I use a leave in conditioner with protein every 3 days or so (the curl junkie one). My hair loves it and never gets hard or weird.

I have high porosity hair so I use a heavy protein conditioner twice a month. My hair loves it and is thriving from the consistent usage.

Most if not all of my DC's have protein and some type of heavy butter or an oil. I have normal density (I think) medium-fine hair and it rejoices when I use protein every week. Also, I would say I am low porosity - I can leave a conditioner on over night and not get mushy/ overly elastic hair.

I have low porosity, coarse, dense hair so I only do one once per month max, but then again, I also henna which acts like a protein on my head.
