Products in current rotation:

Terressentials Pure Earth Mud Wash; Elucence MBC (now really just for cowashing, leg shaving or emergencies); Curl Junkie: Repair Me, Deep Fix, Curl Rehab; AOHSR (retiring); Oyin Handmade: Honey Hemp, Hair Dew, J&B; Qhemet Biologics: BRBC (retiring- prefer Oyin HD), AOHC, OHHB; Jojoba Oil for scalp; Castor Oil or Shea butter to seal; Henna & Ayurvedic pastes when I can be bothered.

Still searching for the perfect stylers, but loving CJ CIAB over everything so far
Have tried looooooads of new stuff lately and the majority have been hits. Some were from December, but hey. Here's what I can remember so far:

1/ Curl Junkie Daily Smoothing Condish as a leave-in
2/ All the soaps in the Bobeam Butters & Bars set I got at Thanksgiving. And the ACV sample she sent. And the mini candy cane. Which I am so grateful she included because it took everything in me not to at least taste the shampoo bars, they smell delicious! I haven't tried the butters yet, but will do at my next wash.
3/ Bee Mine Deep Conditioner. Thanks so much to everyone who recommended this as a substitute for Curl Rehab. I have to admit I wasn't really expecting much, but it truly is amazing!
4/ The Bootleg Curl Detangling brush as recommended by Cerendipity
5/ KBB Butter Love to twist my parched hair in a relatively harsh london winter
6/ Using a steamer. I started in November and have definitely seen improvements over time
7/ Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle to detangle. Found a whole bottle of this left over from one of my not-so-recent trips to the States. Had forgotten I had it, I used to use it as a cowash. Decided to detangle with it after pre-pooing with Bee Mine and my steamer and then washing with Bobeam Honey and Oats, and the brush went through my hair like butter.

Unfortunately...

Miss

1/ Being carried away by the slip of the Trader Joe's TTT, and deciding to leave it in and not seal adequately. A day later and my hair felt like straw. Have had to cowash to rectify. Other than that, a great month so far.

I love Trader joe Tea tree Conditioner for its detangling ability. It is not a leave in so do not use it for that purpose. But as a detangling conditioner, it is the best.

I hate Shea Moisture Conditioners. Poor detangling ability, at least for me. I love their curl enhancing smoothie but not as a styler but deep Conditioner.
I'm on the fence about TJ Ttt conditioner. It can be awesome. But Sometimes it's drying. I don't use it as a li. I haven't figured out what is making it work better sometimes and not others.

I decided to try the TJTTT based on how it felt detangling my hair (and the fact that it retained moisture twisting my whole head without me having to spritz, which I very rarely experience), but now I know not to leave it in. It's all about trial and error.

Preliminary Hit:
Cush Cosmetics Moisturize Me (new formula)
Creme de Palm hair conditioner (hair cream)
Hit: Organix Coconut Milk Conditioner with olive, avocado oil, honey as a prepoo or deep conditioner. So much slip, softness, and moisture.

Hit: using simple Shea butter mixes to seal with after my mid week moisturizing routine.

Continued Hit: Haitian Black Castor Oil- still great for scalp massage, in my sealing mix, and for adding shine which nothing else does. Soft, moisturized, shiny hair.

Sent from my HTC PH39100 using CurlTalk App
Hit: Natures gate herbal conditioner and Barleans pure coconut oil as a prepoo. WOWSERS! Great slip and moisture
Hit 2: LOC method using water spritzer ( water, tresseme natural condish, vegetable glycerin & oil), sealed with mix of JBCO & coconut oil, and followed up with Shea moisture smoothie

Miss:
Soultanicals Knot Sauce, Marula moisture and Curlicious conditioner.

Yes they have great slip. But gave my hair absolutely no moisture. I tried the Knot Sauce as a leave-in and the scent was so strong it made me sneeze, made my scalp itch and just made my hair greasy. The Marula moisture left my hair dry as a desert after an hour. I used the Curlicious conditioner under a heating cap and while it has great slip, my hair was not soft.

I also tried the Knot sauce as a rinse out conditioner and no luck. Rough feeling hair.

Glad I only got samples of the conditioner and the marula moisture. Think I will put the Knot sauce up for swap. Not the products for my hair.
Major hit: using xtreme blue gel for a wash and go along with CJ smoothing lotion as the leave in.
Next time I will try it with KBB Hair Nectar.
