Trader Joe's tea tree shampoo and conditioner. The conditioner is a great detangler. And my scalp is so much happier.
Trader Joe's nourishing spa conditioner as a leave in. Amazing. .. I have thick hair and I only use about a quarter size amount for each for section and seal with olive oil. My hair is soo soft and moisturized.

Karen's Body Beautiful Butter Love
Not new to this product at all, but it continues to amaze me. I used it yesterday and even though I used a little too much, it was amazing. It restored my hair back to how it felt after I big chopped. It just infuses moisture into my hair like nothing else. The ingredients are so simple but it just works for me. I really wish it was still available in coco lime. And I really wish I could haul some jars of it right now.
There's no other butter like this for me.

Hit: SheaMoisture Coconut and Hibiscus Co-Wash. I think i'll get 4 uses out of this 8oz bottle, which is pretty good for me. Smells great, left my hair super soft, and hair felt cleansed. Will alternate this occasionally with my twice monthly washing schedule, this is my gentle wash day cleanser, then wash with something a tiny bit stronger like Elucence Moisture Retention shampoo, Bobeam bar, or a SM 'poo, etc.
Hit: Trimming my hair while it was straight, I could really see what needed to go. I like trimming while my hair is in twists as well, so I will do that the majority of the time, and just trim straight whenever, just to even things up a little, maybe once a year.

Mega Miss:
NaturelleGrow
Silky Strands cleansing conditioner. ABSOLUTELY no slip. Did nothing for my hair.
Slippery Elm conditioner. Not enough slip. Managed to get it on my hair. But after I rinsed it out my hair seized up. I mean it started shrinking up before my eyes. Got back in the shower. Clarified and used MJRR and sitting under a heating cap. Hair still feels dry and hard. Rats..
I have the coconut water conditioner sample. Don't want to try it. Everything is going in the garbage.
I should have known better. I looked at the ingredients and didn't see any PH adjuster ingredients. I bet the PH was too high. Oh well. $17 down the drain.

To the bolded: THIS!!!! I was just wondering about this today!! I have always had high porosity hair. Always! I cut off about 5-6 stretched inches in November (although this was not the majority of my hair, so I wonder if this would have made a difference as the rest is not "new" growth). Now my hair takes forever to get wet and to dry. I'll sit under the steamer with conditioner in my hair, and the conditioner won't soak in. It is SO bizarre. On the plus side, my moisture retention has improved dramatically.

HIT:
Pura Body Naturals Cupuacu Hair Butter
Murumuru Moisture Milk...this combo is dangerous, I'm in LOVE! Hair felt soft, shiny & airy...made it to STAPLES.
Won't say 100% MISS but:
Pura Body Naturals Chocolate Hair Smoothie...this thing smells awesome #yumm...felt great going on, left hair soft but...it didn't provide the disgusting slip that I love from a treatment during the detangling/rinse process. I don't believe I'd repurchase, I have 3 tubs left so that'll keep me busy for a while.
