The only thing I use to deep condition is coconut oil. I apply a handful through my dry hair then put on a shower cap over that for about 30 minutes then I cowash or lo poo in the shower. Makes my hair so soft and eliminates the frizz. HTH

I always take one of my regular conditioners & put whatever oils in that I choose to. Also the SM Masque is supposed to be something similar to a DC isn't it?
I just leave my regular condish on for a really long time. Like over night.

honey mixed in with any condish is fantastic! :d
cocodej likes this.
LOIS (OS); cottony, TYPE 4 hair, fine/med strands; no cones bcz my hair hates them; last relaxer '98; now low porosity, ignores most natural hair rules; BC #8

faves: suave, v05 shampoo, conditioner (my own), raw shea butter, castor oil, peanut oil, aloe juice
I use any curl cream I may have that I don't like as a curl styler. Case in point is the Shea Moisture curl enhancing smoothie which sucks as a curl definer but excels as a deep conditioner. you can also enhance any regular Conditioner by adding some evoo or other oil and honey, ie 2 tbsp condish plus 1 tbsp honey and 1 tbsp evoo or avocado oil or coconut oil etc
I will try to see which one works better for me

I like to mix a protein conditioner, moisturizing conditioner, coconut oil, castor oil/almond oil, peppermint oil and lavender oil (I like the way the last two smell) for my Everything But the Kitchen Sink Deep Conditioner

I deeped conditioned today using the sm deep treatment masque. I put it on dry hair and put a shower cap on for about hour then I washed it out and cowash with aubrey honey suckle. I twisted my hair up using some. My hair felt soft, but I won't know until tomorrow. Today was the first time I used it.

Smithjmonique, do try Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie (SMCES). It is awesome as a DC. You don't really need to add any more oil to it. I like to wash hair and then sleep with the SMCES in my hair (with plastic shower cap). Just make sure your hair is nicely detangled before you use it as slip may not be the best. One trick I hear people do when they DC is to add regular Conditioner on top prior to rinsing; this helps improve slip. I think that deep conditioners are not all the best when t comes detangling abilities, so doing this trick helps.
SMCES has all the characteristics one looks for in Curly Girl friendly products. Silocone free
Paraben free
No mineral oil
Etc

You can buy it at Target, CVS and Walgreen. But I think it is cheaper @ Target.
Your fave conditioner + oil always works. You can also add honey, as mentioned, and/or mayo, and/or avocado. The combinations are endless and up to you. Just toss anything in! You can't go wrong.

You might try a DT with same amounts of light condish (like V05 ones), coconut oil and water.
Put on your hair and let it stay for 30/60min covered with plastic wrap.
Every time i do it, my hair result soft and shiny
