Default Help! Ends won't stay twisted

Hi, y'all. So I got my hair trimmed; chopped off approx 1 inch. I dry my hair in twists in order to stretch and decrease tangles. Now when I twist a section, it literally untwists all the way to the roots as soon as I let go. My curls are coffee stirrer-sized and the ends stay very compacted, so I can't wrap the ends around, not even around my finger. I'm afraid I'm traumatizing the ends the more I try to re-twist. Anyone have similar experiences?

I noticed my hair unravels if haircut is too blunt, meaning all the ends are the exact same length. Have you tried flat twists?

Yes me too, I just put perm rods at the ends of my twists and let it stay for maybe an hour then stay them off and it stays, but I only do it when a twist won't hold.

I notice a difference depending on how wet my hair is when I twist it. Damp hair does better about no unraveling. Also I have to use a heavier product like shea butter on my ends and then do a finger twirl. Helps my twists stay put.. the rollers is a good suggestion too.

Maybe smaller twist. I also tried aloe vera gel and that seem to hold them better.

my hair always unravels in twists but i found products with beeswax really helped the most (applied only to the ends).

bobby pins work and also help to stretch your hair some.
