Miss: Cantu Curling Cream. It's official I just can't use it. Petroleum is an official no in my hair. It's ok in DH's hair because its braided, but I can tell if he had say long hair all over and wore it loose, his hair would be greasy and stringy. (He's a 3b/a/c) So.. I won't be even LOOKING at Cantu again.
Hit: TWISTING!!! Who knew?! I was desperate. I was so tired of my hair. It's too long to just shake and go.. BUT IT'S TOO SHORT TO JUST SHAKE AND GO!!!! Awkward stage I guess. My hair was getting hard and just crappy looking. So I decided to do a twist out type thing.
AND I ACTUALLY HAVE SOFT NICE HAIR!!! It actually blows in the wind and moves DRY!! Honey, I felt like I had just left the salon! Like a Pantene commercial.
Wonder how many days will it look great? Don't know, but that was one FANTASTIC hair day. LoL!

Miss:
Ouidad 12 minute conditioner.
Followed the directions to the tee. Made my hair feel like straw. I had to use a ton of conditioner to soften it up. Goes back to Ouidad. An absolute waste of $25. Yes for 2 oz. What was I thinking . I could have used an ACV rinse and got better results. I think this conditioner is better for low porosity hair as I think it opens the cuticle instead of closing it down. That's why you need to use a conditioner while rinsing it out...to balance out the PH. In any event this is the last time I use anything from Ouidad.

HIT: Henna!
It's been a while since I last used it, but on a whim I tried it again and I'm so happy with the results! And the color is absolutely beautiful!

Chunky Twist Out
I did a chunky twist out (18 twists) and it looked lovely! It was well defined, voluminous and stretched my hair well. I thought I couldn't do twist outs due to excessive tangling and lack of volume. Not so! I was doing twists that were way too small. The chunky twist out had none of the problems I associated with a small/medium twist out and is quicker than my braid-out (16 braids). Yay!
Banana Clip
I used a banana clip ( Black Standard Banana Clip by CoverYourHair - Amazon.com) to do a roll-n-tuck frohawk on a chunky twist out. I put 75% of my hair in the banana clip using this method -- 167| Yes 4b Hair Can Fit in a Banana Clip - Natural Hair Tutorial - YouTube. It worked perfectly and the style held up for a 4 days. Yay!

Dark and Lovely Au Naturale Coil Soufflee and Gelee
The Souflee was a miss because my low porosity hair never would absorb it. Just sat on top. I tried it as a styler and leave-in. This does not play nice with other gels.
The Gelee was okay. Reminds me a little of Pattern Pusha's texture. Gave nice coils, but Will not repurchase. Jar of product is just too small for me,and I don't have a lot of hair.

I loooove this!! I've been using it as the only product after I wash and my hair stays moisturized for days. This product may have cured me of my PJism

Neutral: I wash my hair with henna sooq's carrot shampoo bar. My hair was soft and moisturize, but it felt a little waxy. I don't usually have a waxy feeling with bobeam bars. While continue to use until it's finish.

Hit: mop leave in conditioner
- I really love this as the first step in the LOC method. It is both creamy and light and my hair dries so soft and bouncy. The only problem is that it is a bit pricey and you only get 6.76 OZ. Still, I will rebuy, I'm addicted!

Komazacare Aloe my hair moisturizing spray. The first time I tried this I hated it. But she's offering free samples this month so I tried it again. Lighter scent and it really softens my hair. A full bottle is in my future.

Miss: I twisted my hair with wetline extreme gel. My hair feels dry to the touch and imagine I used QB alma &olive heavy cream. This gel is nice for slicking edges, buning, and wash and go's. I will continue to use Eco white for twisting.

Well ok as the day went by the wetline xtreme gel loosen up. My hair doesn't feel as dry as this morning. I guess my hair bling loosen it up. Will experiment more with it.
Major hit: using CJ curl rehab with the oil mix from bobeam natural products. Even after I rinsed it out my scalp was tingling. My hair is very soft and moisturize. Excellent job Laquita once again.

I haven't been around in a few months so these hits and misses are not just from the past month, but for the past couple of months.
I've been very pleased with some products and a little "meh" about others.
HITS:
Mixed Silk Leave-in Conditioner (Miced Chicks knock off from Sally's): Unfortunately, this product line has been discontinued, according to my local Sally's store. But I really like the leave-in. It has tons of slip, makes my hair feel moisturized, and reduces frizz (all 3 things I look for in a leave-in conditioner). It does contain -cones, which some naturals may not like. I didn't like how strong the scent was at first but I'm now used to it. I might splurge and buy the real Mixed Chicks leave-in to see if it works the same. [Bought this product 3 times--will try to buy again if possible]
The Body Shop Cottonseed Curl Boost: I bought this on a whim, because I need a third item for their 3-for-3 sale they had at Christmas. I'm pleasantly surprised! When used in conjunction with my Mixed Silk leave-in or my Taliah Waajid cream, I get awesome curl definition. It leaves my hair soft and bouncy. The smell is weird but not disgusting or anything--it goes away. [Bought this product once--will possibly buy again]
Taliah Waajid Curly Curl Cream: At first, I didn't like this product. It was sticky and hard to distribute. Fortunately, I found a way to make it work. I scoop a bit in my hand and then mix some water (from the tap). It works so much better if it's diluted. I like the way it makes my hair look but unfortunately, if I use it every day, it can get really sticky and it builds up (and more tangled?). I'm also not crazy about the heavily perfumed scent. [Bought once---will possibly buy again...maybe the "child" version which is the same product but has a milder scent]
Salon Care Firm Hold Styling Gel with Aloe Vera: This is a basic, cheap ($5) hair gel from Sally's. It works great with any leave-in but I have to be careful to not over apply, or else it can make my hair too crunchy. I really like using this gel to smooth over my edges when I wear my hair in a bun or pony tail.I also like using this gel in tiny amounts on a clean mascara wand and using it to tame my eyebrows. The scent is very light/barely there, which is perfect. [Bought 2 times--will definitely buy again]
ON THE FENCE:
L'Oreal EverSleek Humidity Defying Leave-In Creme: I bought this on clearance at Wal-Mart as a potential replacement for my Mixed Silk leave-in. It's a nice leave-in but it doesn't have any slip. It's also fairly expensive when it's not on clearance...I am cheap and I can't see myself paying full price ($8-$12) for only 6 ounces of okay conditioner. The scent is kind of strong but pleasant. [Will not buy again]
MISS:
The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Conditioner for Dry Hair: I really don't like this stuff. I am trying to use it up because it wasn't cheap but I might have to give up. I can't stand the play-dough scent and it does absolutely nothing for my hair. No slip, no moisture, and no detangling properties. Oh and did I mention it STINKS? [Will never buy again]

CURL JUNKIE EVERYTHING - HIT HIT HIT
