Default Should I do the big chop?

I'm 13 years old and I'm considering the big chop. I want to do it because I want a change and I think that its beautiful to have short hair. I see woman rocking their twa. I also want to do it, because my mom won't let me transition. She said that my hair looked bad, because you could see my new curl pattern. She made get a relaxer. I figured doing the big chop is my only option(I'm not even sure she will let me do it). The only thing I'm worried about if I do the big chop is the comments from my peers. Kids in middle school can be mean. Should do it? I've gotten all of my research. Please, help!!!

Hey I wish I would've gone all natural at that age (I was 17 when I big chopped). I think you should ask your mom if it's ok, and if she says it is I say go for it. You sound confident that this is what you want so I wouldn't worry about your peers. If they have something negative to say a good comeback is "well it's good thing I'm not trying to impress you". It's your hair not theirs.

Hahaha!!!! Thanks. I do feel pretty confident, and you're right. It is indeed my hair.

I hope she will. I told her I wanted to cut it all off and she was like" okay." I don't think she was serious tho. I've got to find a way to convince her. I was looking at one of my baby pictures. My hair was so beautiful! I'll post a pic.Should I do the big chop?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1361597453.688474.jpg

Ask her to cut it for you and bring her the scissors if she says yes. That will let her know you are serious. Do not be stubborn about it if she seems reluctant though. (I remember how my mom could get.)
