Default dealing with postpartum shedding?

postpartum shedding is real ya'll. i just knew i'd be some special case that wouldn't shed, i'd keep all of that awesome pregnancy hair...nope. I think my head has actually shed more this week, than in my entire 2 year hair journey. I guess it's okay with me, i could use a volume decrease, as my hair is too dang thick. but does it usually affect length too, or no? also how did you mommies deal with it, in general. so far i've had to put a moratorium on protective styling to keep tangles at bay. i've been exclusively wearing braid outs for two weeks, and removing shed hair with oil and my fingers every other day. what else should i be doing, is this too much?
